I have figured out why I am being sued for the wrong account by the collection agency. I found through the chain of colleciton agencies where and when the account number changed. The account number for my credit card account changed on my credit report and with the collection agencies when the account was "sold" by the original creditor. Is this normal practice for the original creditor to change the account number (and change it on your credit report) before they sell it?

Does anyone happen to know what page the revised dv letter is on, I'm looking but can't seem to locate..thank you

OK - started out trying to negotiate my debts down. Obviously had to stop paying for several months in order to get them to listen to me. Started out with Chase, agreed to installment payments, even though they *said* if I was ever going to be late to just let them know, when it actually happened they sent me straight to a collection agency. So, by now, the fees and add'l interest have added thousands to my credit card debts. SO, I am attempting to file bankruptcy.

Just received some sort of document claiming I owe debt from a credit card. Going to send them debt validation request letter...good idea?? Anyone dealt with these people before? Thank you!!

I see you can't view the topic about the so called class action suit against Debtcc without a password. They moved it to a private forum. That's a little hypocritical isn't it? They were shouting how we (Debt CC) deleted and edited posts, yet they are now hiding it from the public. Interesting!

ok, so as I'm slowly finilizing my settlements now waiting for confirmation letters from OCs next step is to update my credit report, all my settlement letters are saying "settled in full" but they also have outstending balance on the letter so I'm wondering what will my credit report show? as an example let say I had CC with $10k balance, settled for 25% and confirmation letter reads "... after accepting payment of $2,500.00 account is settled in full...

i dont have wage garnishment on me but just curious, how many pdl can do wage garnishment on u??? say 4 example u have 10 pdl how many of those pdl can do wage garnishments on ur check? can all the 10 pdl do wage garnish on u? what is the exact limit?? its just something that came up in my head. every one of us in this world does have debts, and bills to pay. and yes for sure there are alot of us that have loans from pdl companies. i wonder how many people can garnish ur check?? if a company is doin wage garnishment on u, can the other pdl garnish also???

I received a civil summons today from my roommate from Midland Credit. They gave it to him because I was out of town at the time. There was not an actual court date listed, but I checked with the courts listed on the summons and it was filed on March. 3rd. The date of the summons is March 23 and states I only have 20 days to dispute the amount. It says its for credit card debt, but doesnt tell me which one. And the amount its asking for(even before the fee's) doesnt seem familiar to me. Since obviously 20 days is past, can I still dispute or ask for verification?
