We have recently enrolled in a debt settlement program with Debt Remedy Advisors. Prior to this we were never late on our cards but like alot of the stories here racked up high debt because of numerous circumstances. We didn't want to go the bankruptcy route so after researching and alot of thought we decided to go with settlement. We are now 1 month behind and our phone rings from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. How long will this last?

i have a default judgement for my husband premarital debt. it is currently reported to the credit bureaus. definately not my account was his before marriage medical debt. anyway i live in ohio..it was entered 10/07. dispution process with credit bureau just verified it. is there anything i can do now that its a over a year old? please help me..

I am getting messages from our community members that their posts are getting deleted even when they’re following the forum guidelines. Even I noticed that someone has deleted my few posts too. Please co-operate with us and help me out with your suggestions on how we can improve this system and protect our members’ valuable comments. I have a request to all my moderator friends: please do not delete any post which is not against our forum guidelines. If it appears that someone is sharing the wrong information with us, then debate with him over there only.

Most of us who have defaulted on our regular Cash Call payments have been receiving these offers to lower our interest rate from 96% to 47% (sound familiar?) So nice of them...ha ha. I showed the offer to a lawer friend...he was EXTREMELY concerned that the offer does not stipulate what the final payment will be, just what the "reduced" interest payments would be. He said he wouldn't be surprised if the final payment was the entire principle of the loan ($2500 in my case).

Couple of things, I thought those checks were not going to be taxed, but as I did my Taxes I see they were. Long story short, but last year DH and I did taxes seperate, he got the check, mine went to back taxes I owed. So this year we are filing joint, so do I need to add my "check" I really didn't get or only the money he got.

Hi I have two little collections that are on my credit report that I will like to pay off. I have read about the horror stories that is associated with paying debt collectors. I was wondering if someone can tell me what steps I should take and how I can go about paying them. Thanks

I have the following: oneclickcash, impact cash, loanshop, CMG, Centurion, INterity, UpFront Cash, MY1... I have only been paying the fees and on most of these I have paid more than the principal. I took these out when I was having some difficulties and now I can't get rid of them. I would be fine now if I could just get rid of these loans. Can anyone help or give me some advice. I need help!

i was shocked when my bf called me from work and told me that one of his pdl is goin to do wage garnishment on him. because he havent made payments with them for about few months i believe. some pdl company says threatening words and always scare the hell out of us. some of my pdl's told me that before like LUCKYCASH4U. i was told if i dont pay them soon they will end up doin wage garnishments on my check etc.i didnt get pay'em for a month or two they said if i dont pay them sooner they will do that.

Can anyone shed light on this? I'm getting ready to file BK (probably 7), but I've read the downside to doing so. One puzzles me - the affect it might have on potential job searches/hiring. Has anyone felt the ramifications of BK on their everyday life, other than the usual financial stress? I mean things like getting insurance, a new job, social status, etc. Feedback?

HELP! Does anyone have any info on these people. I discovered from paid a in full letter they sent me last year that they were located in Las Vegas, NV. Can anyone tell me if these folks are legal. I live in California and according to them I now owe $900 on a $600 loan. I want to deal with them before they deal with me. Should I send them a Revocation of Wage Assignment? Do I negotiate with them via proposal, if so, where do I send it? Who can I contact, does anyone have any answers or suggestions....Please Help. Thank you.
