Has anyone had any dealings with the CA? I have been getting some phone calls from them (Unknown) for a couple of weeks but, I ignore them because I didn't know who they were. Today I got a letter requesting payment on a very old debt (credit card from a catalog). I know this is not on my credit report and is at least over 8 years old. I am in Kentucky. I know that it is way past SOL. Should I send them a DV letter and/or a ceist and desist? Or, is there something else I should send? I have not heard of them before.

Okay so i borrowed $250 from outback bucks i payed a total of $310 off and they continued to take money out of my account so i closed my account over a month ago and today they called me that i owed $350!!! and if i did not pay it they would garnish my check! can they do this?? what is their intrest rate???? I NEED HELP!!

Has anyone else gotten a call from an Attorney Thompson's office, phone # 1-888-688-2977? I received on at work today from an Elijah Peltier. I am trying to get an address on this company so I can send them a DV letter and don't want to call them. I have searched this sight and google and can't seem to find one. Please let me know if anyone else has dealt with them! Thanks!-

I lost my job in January and finally got a new job this past Monday. During my time trying to find a job I was unable to pay my bills. I have 2 loans each from a different store front company. I am getting all of the records together for the exact payment due but I know they are around $250 each, I also have a credit card from h and r block that has a payment due of around $500 and owe US Cellualr $600. What would be the best way to get this all straightened out? :?:

Does anyone have any experience with a 'Secondary Credit Number' or it's sometimes called a 'Credit Profile Number'? I know someone who knows someone that recently paid $400 to get this number which allows you to establish a new credit history. I tried researching and found sites that say is legal as long as you don't use for any government reporting. I found other sites that say NO it's not. I'd appreciate any info. Thanks!

I only started looking at this website yesterday (great info btw). Was wondering what the overall purpose of the validation letter is. I noticed that people say to use it a lot. I am working on repairing my credit and have one CA that has been calling a lot as of last week. no other info except to call them, never heard of them before and have gotten no mail from their company. Before i start a settlement negotiation with them should i send a validation letter so that i know what they want first?

I finally was handed the straw that broke the camel's back. UCB called my family in 2 different states and spilled EVERYTHING! Can any suggest an attorney in Texas that would be willing to take these (b) tards to court for violations of the FTCPA? Or if there is an attorney reading this please let me know. I checked my credit report..and I have 2 credit cards that I KNOW I need to get paid off.....I called the companies to find out who exaclty had the debt....One was CBCS..I called to get them to SEND me or FAX me a settlement letter...but she couldn't do that? I don't understand..
