Got home from work and noticed that there was from what I've been reading a bank levy on my account, no warning no nothing, the money was just gone, according to the bank the levy was for $1140.10, and they got $159.84, this information along with the lawyers name and tn# is all we have, nothing else, now we did move back in oct of 2008 to another city, but I thought that, if someone sue me they would have to put a legal notice in the newspaper of the last known address? by the way I live in alabama, We could really use any and all help

i'm going over and over what our best possible solution to our debt problem. we (mostly I because the cards are under my name) are about $70,000.00 in debt. i've been talking to care one and think that the best thing for me to do is do their settlement plan. It looks like all my cards will be put up in the plan and one unsecured loan. I'm reading complaints bout people getting sued by creditors. What is the likelyhood that I too will be sued?

I must need clarification one more time about dismissals with and without. The plaintiff finally filed a dismissal in my case. They told me over the phone that they were filing a dismissal without prejudice, but then what they actually filed was a dismissal with prejudice. Is it good for plaintiff to file dismissal with prejudice?

Amex closed my business account 2 months ago. I'm current on my monthly payments and I make them online. I received a letter from GC Services Limited Partnership that my account was in default and they demanded the account to be paid in full. I called Amex and they wouldn't speak to me. I have my original agreement (yes, I'm a pack rat) and I don't see where they can do this. Has anyone had this same experience? The debt they listed is my account but I did decide to send them a dv letter.

How do you get rid of a debt collector that thinks you are someone else and keeps harrassing with phone calls.

I have been researching which way to go with our debt. I think we are going to go with Four Peaks Debt Settlement. Unless anybody out there tells me absolutly don't do it. But anyway, we owe about $50k in credit cards and I haven't defaulted on any payments yet. The woman I spoke with at Four Peaks said in order to be in the program we have to be behind in payments. Unfortunatly, I am at that point and I am scared to death. I have to not make a credit card payment so I can buy food for my family. I am scared too death of missing payments, I'm scared too sign on with this Four Peaks.

I need a letter requesting the company that have a judgment againist to send me a statement.

have 3 pay day loans right now. #1 TJF Corp, loan was for $300 have paid 630.00 to date. #2 United Cash Loans, loan for $300 have paid $360 to date. #3 to VIP loan shop for $500, have not made any payments yet. After I got the money for the 3rd loan I realized, I cannot pay this. I am stressing, as I'm sure many people are right now, about money. Any help is appreciated.

A proof of service was submitted to the courts stating they served my wife. I have proof she wasnt home, 30 days have passed and the case is still pending what should i do?
