Two quick questions... 1. If I have a judgement/garnishment against me to pay a credit card debt and have been paying can they also take my tax refund? 2. Does having a garnishment against you and other outstanding debt (not child support) can I still obtain a passport? Thanks for your help! I can not thank this board enough! Well last week I was unable to pay off my pdl- which were all storefront- I posted a thread on them all and got great response on what to do!. It was either pay my pdl or loose my car, I choose my car, i can not tell you how much stress I was under, and now I feel relieved. I have every intention of paying them pack, even if it means send them 20 dollars a month, I will and plan on doing it, every dollar counts, I owe them, and they will get paid. I have to live my life, and thats what I am going to do.

I'm receiving call from H & P capital that brought my acct from cash supply whos' loans are illegal in the the state of ohio, how should I proceed?

I have about 45K in depts and was paying about $900 a month. I had been transferde from my job to another state, rented the house, but they just moved out without notice. I payed the mortgage from the house plus the rent from the house I currently living at. Could pay all credit cards the first week and imediately they raise me to 29.9 I called and tried to explain and that I have never been late to see if the would lower my APR because the monthly payment went from 900 to 1700 for being one week late.

Ok, I keep getting calls from 716-563-3244. As far as I can tell this is a NY cell phone. They called 2x last night but did not leave a message. I just called the number and some guy answered Goldstein and Rath. About a week ago, some guy called from this number and left a message to call another number and refer to my case number 999-99-9999. Which is my social security number. He must have known that was a social security number. Somehow this doesn't seem right. My cell phone message doesn't state that it is me it is just generic message. Anyone else get this type of call?

I just received a letter from 3rd party collection agency. I am in Arizona and they are a licensed collection agency in Arizona. They are SMith, Haynes, & Watson, LLC. I took out two loans with Eastside lenders. One was for $300 and I paid $975 on it, done - PIF. The 2nd one was for $600 and I paid $540 before I found out they were illegal. I notified them of the ACH revocation, but they continue to try and withdraw $. I told them I wasn't paying the remaining $60 on this latest loan as I had overpaid $675 on the prior illegal loan.

Hello all. I am new here and will apologize upfront if there have been previous posts on this subject. I am just beginning the process of debt settlement. Our major players are WAMU (now Chase), GE and Capital One. Would anyone care to share a copy of their hardship letter? Please feel free to black out everything. I just want to get an idea of how the body of the letter should read. Also, which address do I send the letter to? The one on the back of the card? Thank you so much!! Kimberly

I faxed my letters one that is my cease and desist letter and revocation of wage assignment. However now that I have done that they have blocked me from logging in to their website to check status of anything. Can they do that? Also are they even legal or licensed in the state of California and if not how do I go about not paying anything else except for the amount of the loan minus the fees?
