I had 5 PDL and I paid off 2 of them. I want to make payments for the others. Checksmart told me that was not an option and I had to pay all I owed today. The man I talked to was extremely rude...yelling at me over the phone that I needed to be more responsible....they call me about 10 times a day,either at work or home. I will not answer their phone calls now. My employer is getting upset over all the calls I recieve at work. I want to pay them off but on a monthly payment schedule. Any advice??????

What wording would you use to contact a collection attorney offering to settle debt of original amount. I have been served a summons, is it to late to make an offer? Thanks

My husband just got our mail and a large Fed Express evelope arrived with my name on it from SPD Financial Services, LLC. In my certified letter to them I told them that I overpaid them by $870.00 and asked for a refund. Well, in the envelope was a cashier's check from SunTrust Bank for $870. I've never heard of this bank, is the check legit? I'm afraid to put it in the bank. I'm actually quite shocked but from what I found out about SPD is that they are not even licensed to loan money period!!!! Anyone else received a refund from them?

I have re-located overseas and have no immediate plans of returning to Australia. Before leaving I sold a property and paid off my mortgage but left about 70K of other debts behind (personal loan and credit cards). I have been trying to make regular payments on these from overseas but sometimes I cannot meet the payments on time. I would prefer to pay this debt off rather than running away from it but right now I am struggling to do so. Are there any logical solutions for me?

This company calls me 1-2 times per year asking for money (which I owe), but everytime I ask them for the balance and interest rate they're charging me, they refuse to tell me. I've been paying them $100 per month because my job demands its employees to be financially responsible. At the time $100 was all I could afford, but now I can pay more and I want this to be over. How can I get them to provide the info I need because I think it would be foolish to blindly send them more money?

I received a call from "Brady and Caruso" concerning a debt from a credit card from 1996 with my ex-husband. I supposedly owe over $8000 that they will be "garnishing wages and reporting to the IRS." I want people to beware of this debt collecting attorney office. I had a hospital bill in the amount of $596.00 that was bought and turned over to this law office. I had to go to court in July and agreed to pay them $50.00 a month until it was paid off. I am a single working woman and really could not afford that amount but agreed to get them off my back. Their attorney agreed as well that this would be alright and EVERY month since I have mailed them the payment. Today I just got a notice of Garnishment in the mail from these people!!!!!!!!!!! My husband became disabled and we too found ourselves being sued by 2 companies. The judge will not care about your medical or financial woes. If you owe they will get a judgement. We recieved a notice of judgement and a date to come to sheriffs office. Very scary. We went and told them we did not have the money to pay. They were very nice and sent a letter back to court stating we did not have anything. So now we have two judgements on our credit. The judgements were put on our house. If we sell the house these bills will come out profit, first.

I just got a loan and was suprised to find a payment of $310 on my credit report I am not making. The last activity on this account was 5/03. How can I get this changed so it doesn't show up as a out going payment from my current income?

A debt charged off by one company is bought by a collection agency at the end of 3 years statue of limitations. How long can the collection agency pursue this debt and can both be on the credit report, looking like twice the debt owed?
