hi guys. i've posted on this forum before in the past couple months, getting help with sorting out a debt. long story short i was working with Richard J. I paid off the debt, only to have a rep from Boudreau et al. tell me i owed them another $900 in interest." when i told them i was sending a DV for the "interest they got angry, said i was refusing to pay, and sent the account back to LVNV. i sent them the DV anyway which received no response.

Old judgements from previous business

17 years 3 months ago
I have spent the last several years cleaning up my credit and have my score into the mid 600's. I see today that the tax liens are gone as reported however I have 2 remaining judgements from creditors. Do I negotiate a pay off with the creditors to remove them also? I don't know anything about judgements.

Step by Step

First, thanks to all who take the time to post their knowledge and or experience to those of us who are trying to regain our lives. I started with 11 PDLs and am now down to 5. I know 5 might still be a lot to some, but to me, it is terrific....I know the light is at the end of the tunnel. Still a lot of road ahead, but I finally believe that I will be done with the remaining 5 within the next two months. The availability of addresses, phone numbers etc. that you are provide have made it so much easier for me to contact the lenders.

Notification from creditor/collections agency

17 years 3 months ago
I believe that there is a law governing the timing of notification that a creditor must provide to a consumer before reporting a claim to the credit bureaus. Does anyone know what that law is specifically? I had a collection agency contact me about a claim 4 years ago and I disputed it at that time because it belonged to a former roommate. No further action was taken after I submitted my dispute, but when my former roommate paid the claim in full in June 2008, the creditor reported it against ME and it appeared on my credit report for the first time.

married but separate accts

I'm not really sue how to start handling our debt. We owe a total of 31K on cc, 26K on cars, and our mortgage. The cc debt is 21K in my name and 10K in husband's name. I do not work. Can I handle my debt separately from his and continue to pay his or try and negotiate a hardship payment plan on his? His income and credit is what we use for any loans, so I feel it's important to protect it as much as possible. I am on the house and 1 vehicle, however. My goal would be to try and settle my accounts on my own. Otherwise, we could try a dmp, but I'm not sure we have the income to qualify.

I live in Virginia and my chapter 7 was discharged in March '08. Now I'm being harassed by a creditor that was listed on the bankruptcy. I did not have a lawyer and don't know how to proceed. I understand that them contacting me is illegal.

FDIC to First Bank of Delaware, CEASE & DESIST

Oh this looks like we are getting some where. Maybe this will be the end of Cash Call and Think Cash. If you click on the "Order" it takes you to a 41 page PDF on the stuff against them. These filings were for a credit card they were issuing but it is a start that the FDIC is on to them.
