Today my Hr secretary gave me a fax from Ross law firm out of utah, requesting verification of my employment with the intent to garnish my wages. I live in TX and this is in reference to an online PAY DAY LOAN from two years ago. Can this be done?

We have a small loan from a local company...only $800 and we are two weeks late on the payment and they have called our NEIGHBOR!!! And today found out they called my husband's step dad who lives in another state!? We don't even have his phone number? How are these people finding this info and is this legal???

I live in Arizona and need so advice on what I can do about these payday loans. Work was really slow for me so that's how I got into this trap. Now work is going well but now most of my income is going to pay these loans. What I do. I've listed the companies I am with currently based on current renewals. Thanks for your help in advance. I live in Ohio and work for a company in Kentucky...I had a payday loan in kentucky an was unable after years to pay when due...Stopped payment on check...Today got a summons to appear in court in Kentucky...Don't they have to file in the state I reside...On the summon they listed my address as my address at my job...?

Now I just got off the phone with their legal dept and they wont accept anything below half of the current balance which is 4k. If I can't pay at least half, they will take this to court. I told them I can't come up with the money and they said then a judgement would be entered at the court date.

Please walk me through a summons! I need help! I keep reading up on codes and laws but it's like another language to me!!!! I live in NY. Summons was filed by the Law Office of Michael Korsinsky. Plaintiff is GMR Capital Credit. Original debt is from Circuit City dated March 7, 2006. The complaint has 21 counts. I contacted the court and verified it is an actual summons. I have never received any documentation from the Law Office of Michael Korsinsky or GMR Capital Credit. Neither are on my credit report, not even as an inquiry.

hello, i set up an agreement back in may 2008 to pay off my amex green card over 12 months. i have not missed any payments but the card did go past 180 days due and it is now showing up as a "charge off/collection" on my credit report. this is extremely frustrating because they promised me it wouldn't be reported negatively, and now it is. my question is: after i completely pay off this amount will their credit bureau department REMOVE the charge off from my account or will they just mark it as "paid in full" - there is a big difference.

I received a summons from lawyers representing arrow financial services, LLC a few days ago and I have no idea how to properly respond to it. The amount indicated on the summons is over 2.5 times what I actually owed the credit card company, not including the 6% per annum interest Arrow plans on charging. I want to dispute this claim and settle for an amount I can afford. Obviously, I have no intention of paying more than I originally owed the credit card company, and I can't afford that.
