WOW, so HSBC sent my husband a settlement offer today. His balance is 1287.05. They are offering to eliminate 58% =746.49!! They will take it in one payment or 3 pmts of 180.19, only one BIG problem, they want the first payment by Dec 2!!! I think I can pull it off, my husband wants to ask them to wait to start payment in Jan, but I know they will not do that. What do you think, sweet deal or not? Man I wish more of your cc companies would send settlement offers our way. Reny

Are these loans legal in the state of Maryland? Need Help on this.

Granted there interst rates are astronomical but used as a last resort small pricipal loan (they way you might occasionally use a pawn shop)and assuming no default or extensions, are there any legitimate payday loan companies? Like payday max or check into cash? Bruce.

It seems that I am on my way of settling my first credit card for slightly less than 50 percent. I have a total of 12 credit cards and total debt grater than $90000. I will keep everybody posted. Anybody has any advice on how to proceed cautiously with this, please let me know.

I currently have 4 payday loans out. 3 of them taking 90 dollars a paycheck and 1 taking 60. These payments only go toward interest so while I have been paying for almost 2 months, I still owe the same amount I borrowed. Its getting to be too much to handle! Is there any way out? I called a debt consolidation company, and they said you can"t consolidate pay day loans and that it might be the best idea to close my bank account.......then I read tat "PDL assistance" does......Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am in a very confusing situation. I have been cleaning and settling my old accounts for almost 2 years now (some of them were charge off and with collections). I have pretty much cleaned all but one account with Unifund (collection agency). I opened this account/card in the yr 2002 and then stopped making payments in sometime 2003 or 2004. The account is with Unifund with all the wrong dates on it. The account details say that the first delinquency was filed in 2002. But in fact I barely got this card in the end of 2002 so that information is not correct.

I still owe some more on my accoutn but i'm having trouble paying the rest of my loan what can i do to resolve this issue, it's already gone to the third party and they are wanting payment. I don't want to get into any trouble. But would liek to set up some sort of payment plan. this payment was done on line about a year ago and i thought it was paid for. I now find out that it wasn't had a man by the name of Mr.Steawart telling me that if i don't pay that i would get myself into alot of trouble would you please advise me in what i need to do

Which of these is worse for your credit? I thought it was Chapter 13 but read somewhere that settlement was worse. What is everyone's experience? In some ways, Chapter 13 is similiar (in my mind) to settlement except that you are put on a payment plan for 3-5 years instead of lump sum payments.

I'm still unclear on the law below. Am I eligible to reverse the charges for ACH payments for PDL in TN. Quote:
