poll questions how many have had a successful debt settlement plan? with what company? what amount of debt? how many years?

If you are being sued in Texas PM me and maybe we can work together. Each state has different laws so it is more useful for all of us in Texas to work together and create a better understanding of how to fight back against a debt collectors. I was sued this year by Mann Bracken and won a "non suit" which means that they asked the court to drop the case "WITHOUT prejudice". It is my understanding, from my atty, that without prejudice is so that they can refile without looking like they go around filing frivilous lawsuits (illegal in most places).

Has anyone dealt with this site and the subsequent sites linked off it? at least one has the BBB creds, and it looks to be the site of an attorney in MA (Mory Brenner). I'm so afraid of getting wrong advice that I'm questioning everything and its making me nuts.. any thoughts?

I have a question - my payroll was late due to last tuesday's holiday and i had a bill bounced (jeez, i went from nothing bouncing to really being on a roll this year :( ). I am getting paid on Wed now and am not too worried but it's weird because it bounced on Thursday than I was charged an "overdraft: fee and its still here. Normally, it is sent back and I am charged an NSF fee. I did have some money in the account (enough to cover the overdraft fee, if that helps) Should I call the bank? I am so paranoid about check fraud, but this was really my payroll's fault!

Okay, this is a happy moment. I fixed the washing machine. I tried this a few weeks back and nothing worked right then (got it working though), but today the thing just fell apart again. I popped open the front cover, the motor was (this time) easy to remove, I super-glued the bottom pulley back together, and it was running again in 30 minutes. The squeak and rattle are gone. And it looks like this time they'll stay gone! What's your recent victory?

Will CAs or their legal firms sue for any amount of unpaid debt, or do they consider a debt under $1000, for example, not worth going after?

I am being sued - at least I had a complaint filed in court for my CC debt - and I am debating whether or not I should try fighting this. Bottom line, it is my debt, but the whole scenario, as far as I understand it, has not been entirely professional. I was contacted on 9/12 about the debt - I sent out a DV letter certified mail/return receipt. A few days later I received a response from the debt collector claiming they hadn't heard from me - "Lies", I said - I sent you a DV letter certified mail and return receipt - "So I am very aware you received my DV Letter.
