Hi I am in texas and my wife has or had a debt from a dental office from the year 01.. 7 Years later I am now getting calls from pro collect, I got the documentation from them and it looks like she in facts owe's the bill. I have sent them cease and deceast letters and even called them and explained that the statue of limitations has been reached. However they start screaming and hang up... Is there anything else I can do to have them stop calling the house?? My understanding is they can send me mail, but are supposed to stop calling?

I am considering filing bankruptcy, but if they find my income isn't quite what I put on the cc applications, will I have problems?

When I returned a NES phone call, a woman named Tracy Slater answered saying "Law offices of NES." Are they a law office? I paid them $5000.00 with another credit card, did I make a major mistake? Help!!

Okay I have two collection accounts with this company, I have not been notified by them and the only reason I know this is, is because of my credit report. Should I call them and see if they can settle and if so how low should I try to get the balance down to? It's for a bank account I had several years ago and the balance is high because of all the repeated fees I was assessed. The balance on one is 798 and the other is 252. Opinions please :)

It has been about two weeks of peace, no phone calls from either one. AIS did email saying they were marking my account with SGQ Ltd Cease and Desist (whatever that is suppose to mean, I did send them a C&D letter) but I am afraid this is the calm before the storm. I have three ipdl's that I am still working to resolve. Cash Advance Network, Paychecktoday.com and Eastside Lenders. ARM of Florida has the CAN and Paychecktoday accounts but I have not heard one word from Eastside Lenders. I owe CAN $120, Paychecktoday $30 and Eastside Lenders $30.

Hello, I have a question that maybe some of you may know. I live in an older city home that was basically chopped up into different apartments. I share a heating system with an apartment upstairs but it is currently vacant. The landlord pays for the heat but yesterday, he turned it off completly. After I called, he said he was turning off upstaris but I guess he gave them the go-ahead for the whole building. He said he will "reroute" it today and on Monday get it turned back on. This was Tuesday!! I called PSE&G and they said they cannot turn it back on without the landlord's go-ahead.
