One member account in this forum was frozen, he can not access any activities. My question is: I am in DSP with Care One Credit just 1 month, I may expect some lawsuits possible,so should I withdraw most of the money I save, and keep the minimum amount to pay bills? I was with Wescom Credit Union, not with any Credit Cards bank as BOF , Wells Fargo or Wamu...

I have a younger sister that when got out of prison used my mom to obtain credit. She is now 27 and my mom is 82 ( way too big of on age diffrence) but needless to say that this girl conned my mom into signing a car note for her. Now Nissan is threating to put a lein on my moms house for the defiency balance. She lives in the state of Texas. Can they do that? If so what course of action can she take?

I want to accept a settlement offer with a collection agency.No one personally from the company signed the letter but the letter specifically states they are willing to settle for 70% less and states if payment in full in the settlement amount is paid within 45 days they will consider the debt paid in full and closed.It is a regular company letterhead letter with all my account info and it is a valid debt.Is this enough written paperwork I need so that if I pay them I have proof showing their agreement incase they try to screw me over?I do not want to talk to them and fool with the jerks just

Do I fold or hold on? It's been a tough 8 years for my wife and I concerning finances. Corp. buyouts, bankruptcies, have a job one month, not the next especially last year. We've accumulated a lot of credit card debt, bad business debt etc. Like most people you think you could hold on and things will get better. At least, that's what I've been believing. Now, after looking for job for the last month and the economy, I'm not so sure anymore. Being served papers, phone calls and the threatening letters are getting too much to handle.

Just deleted 16 spam messages with links to all types of stuff....nothing debt related.

I have too many(4) that I will never be able to pay off without eating up my check every pay period. My other bills are suffering because of this and I'm at my wits end. Do I have any other recourse than to close my bank account? I live in New Jersey.

Will this program show as a bad mark on my credit score?

Well, they left me alone for a few days once I gave them my debt settlement attorney's number. Now they are back to calling me. They aren't calling my cell phone anymore, thank god. But they are calling my house. So they just called and I'm sick of hearing the phone ring because I have a splitting headache. So I pick up. I'm on hold waiting for an operator for 5 minutes. Then someone picks up and asks for me. I say that I'm not here (pretending to be a babysitter). And the lady says "Well, have her call NES at 1-800-441-5317.

I received a summons today. This is for an old, old debt and I am trying to verify when the last payment was made. I tried working out a payment plan with them and settle the amount when they first tried contacting me but they were very rude and not willing to work with me. There are 2 pages to the summons, the first is for a court date in Chicago the other has a date of Nov 28th and was apparently a suit filed against me in Georgia. I have no idea what that is. I have sent a letter asking them to prove the debt.
