Judge ruled our SSChecks could not be touch and bank is to return money. If any thing goes into this account creditor can get ,like a refund check of $12.40 from our insurance company.
Thats ok nothing else will go in this account but SS
Does my tax refund, which is usually pretty sizable, pay off my bankruptcy faster? I am on an 84% payoff plan, so my refund goes to the trustee--I think.
I closed my checking account so that I wouldnt get bombarded with payday loans withdrawels - so I have a separate unlinked checking acct at the same bank and I am only allowing one payday loan place to access it since they seem the most trustworthy after some hellish experiences.
I guess my main question is although I closed taht one account and now one PDL has access to it - is it possible that the other PDL's can access it also in some underhanded way?
I have been paying them $50 a month, this month my payment was a little late, but still paid. I just received a letter from them asking for payment in full beacuse of "broken promises and no cooperation", are they kidding? it also says if I don't pay in full, they will search my assets to se what I can pay. Can someone help me with a letter I can send them, I did pay.
I am sixty years old and single and just found out I will be sued by a credit card for a 3-4 year default.
Already tried paying through a credit councelling service. Now Considering Bankruptcy.
Two questions - my 65 year old sister moved in this spring after her husband died. She only gets a small Soc Sec check and helps me with the utilities. I have a 21 year old daughter away at college.
How will the bankrupcy system determine my family size. 1,2 or 3?
Will my sisters social security be considered? She is sick with cancer and uses her money for heathcare.
In trying to get my credit straightened up, I discovered that there are four pdl's that are on my credit report. I thought that they were not allowed to show up on our credit reports? Is that correct? Is there anything I can do to remove them?
I'm being sued by Discover Card and will go to court in a couple of weeks (I've posted about this on another thread) and I'm thinking about settling. I can't take the stress any more. I've spent the last two weeks doing legal research and my whole life has been put on hold. If they win a judgment, they can collect for 10 years in Missouri and renew the judgment for 10 more years. That's a scary thought. Plus, I'm a self-employed graphic designer. My puny income comes through Paypal. I fear that if they win, they could garnish or levy my income and effectively destroy my small business.
If the OC turns an account over to a CA who cannot collect does that CA turn around and sell it again? I am most interested in the PDL process of Collection.
I have tried my hardest to stay current, but with them raising my interest rate on my credit card sky rocketing to 29% after one late payment, I can't afford to pay it. I have 2 more credit cards that I am not late on right now. Does that matter? I just made an appointment with a BK lawyer for next Thursday 'cause I can no longer pay my minimums. Bad thing is, I wasn't expecting to have to file BK and have used some of the cards for small purchases recently. Now that I've decided that BK is my only option, I will obviously stop using the cards, but should I wait a while before I file?
I have been seperated from my husband for over a year. When he left I took over all the debt. Now I am laid off and my unemployment is running out. Is there help for me? Will the debt consolidation companies work with me since I have no income? Please help.
