I got about 10 more phone calls today. Mr. McElrath left a message on both my house phone and cell phone that said the following: "Uh John, just calling to let you know we already processed the checks in our office. Obviously you haven't called us back so we assumed everything is a go." Now, my husband foolishly gave them our bank account numbers in the middle of October. They called him at work and was harassing him. He gave them the check numbers and told them we MIGHT be able to come up with the money by the end of the month. He never gave them a specific date.

a little background: I have a history of online PDL's, and have had CA reps call me on my cell, at my office, and call my loan references (mom & sister). Once right after getting off the office phone with one, they called right back asking for the owner, then asking for the payroll dept. I go into detail all the scare tactics used, but my stories aren't unique here. Anyway, today a guy calling himself "David Miles" called asking for my boss by name. I answer the office phone lines, and always screen by boss' calls (that's part of my Office Manager job description at my small company).

A company in MSP is advertising that they can (as exclusive MN licensee) negotiate principal & interest rate reductions on behalf of clients. Is there a license for this? And what are the qualifiers necessary to have a mortgage company do this?

Ok, so back in 2005 I had some problems and ended up having to use a $5000 credit card to settle an issue. I paid Capital One off and on for about a year or two. Now, I've been 6 months delinquent on the account and they've since sold it to First Source Adv. Now they're calling me telling me I owe them $6300. First time they called I verified my cell phone number with them and told them not to contact any other numbers they had listed (they were calling my fiancee's house looking for me). They've since continued to call both her cell phone, my cell phone and her house trying to contact me.

I had a Direct Merchants CC years ago. I was sent an Arbitration Forum letter from Worldwide Asset Purchasing, LLC from the Law offices of Gerald E. Moore. Later I received a letter from the arbitration saying I owed 2013.00 to the claimant, WWAP,LLc and Gerald E Moore. I have since received a phone call from a Mr Harvey from Gerald E Moore offering me a 1000 settlement. I told him I could not pay this, he said my wages could be garnished that I had better do a check by phone for 150.00 or overnight a check to them that had to be there by end of Oct.

I notice that throughout the various posts, it appears to always be suggested that the storefront pdls get taken care of first as they are the most likely to proceed with court action. My question is the following: I live in CA and am now aware of CA laws re: loan amounts, rollovers, etc. I obtained three storefront loans but also various internet loans. A couple of these internet loans are from lenders who are also storefront - but I obtained the loans online.
