The ACM group has been harassing me at work for a dept that was settled in a court of law 5 years ago (in my favor). It is my understanding that it is illegal for a collection agency to call a persons place of employment. Can you confirm this for me?

Richard J. Boudreau & Associates llc Just received a letter from Richard J Boudreau and Associates llc re: being retained by LVNV Funding which evidently bought my debt from Chase Manhattan Bank. Naturally, they want a settlement etc. Looked them up on line and it appears that they are not a reputable company. also if I am thinking correctly, I do not have to deal with them since they are not the original creditor. Is this correct? should I send them a cease and de___ letter. They called at work today and left their name for me to call also and have called 3 times at home.

Hi, I have a very stressful situation on my hands. I missed some payments on my HSBC Retail Services motorcycle loan. I was contacted by Corporate Receivables for collections. I verified with HSBC that I the account was charged off to them. I made a payment agreement with Corporate Receivables and sent them six post dated monthly payments. They still have one more check of mine for next month... Now I am being contacted by ARS and told I owe the debt to them. They claim it was "recalled" by HSBC and I should be paying them.

Well I have been a member here for a few months, got some great advice but not much results. I am in such a financial bind, I can't even make arrangements with anyone. I wish I had someone who I can go to because I am in need of funds because I am in a bind as to how to feed my kids and gas, that's the reason I got the loans in thei first place. That was the worse mistake I could have made. I am sick about this because I don't know how to get any funds. I wish I had enough of these points I could turn in but that is not possible. I have been so stupid- I am ready to give up.

I received a limited civil summons for a credit card debt from Brachfield & Assoc. I'd like to respond, but cannot find out what form I'm suppose to fill out. I went down to the courthouse and asked, but they told me they couldn't give me an answer, that I had to ask a lawyer. I have an idea of what I'd like to say in response, but I want to make sure I fill out the correct form so this doesn't go past the 30 days from being served and allowing them to automatically win by default. Can someone please either tell me what form to fill out, where to get it, etc.

I just discovered a judgement from a mortgage company on my credit report. I divorced in 2002 and defaulted on my mortgage. The amount is $2000. They have not collected on the judgment. I am not sure what to do. Should I call them to make payment arrangements? I don't want to open up this can of worms without getting some advice. I don't have a problem paying it. I am just worried that they will garnish my wages or my bank account. This judgment took place in Texas and I now live in California.

I financed a car with my girlfriend as a cosigner to help build her credit.We have since split up and I do not know where the car is although we occasionally speak on the phone.I have tried to keep up the payments but due to other bills I have been unable to.I am now 3 months behind and they are SURELY looking for it.I have not replied to any of their calls as they want the money or the car.

I am in the process of filing a chapter 7 bankruptcy. I have already received a wage garnishment, however I am currently unemployed. My child support is directly deposited into my checking account. Can my entire checking account be seized before I file bankruptcy. Should I stop the direct deposit until I get enough money to file for bankruptcy?
