Have just read some horror stories regarding pay day loans. I just recvd. one from loan shop for 300.00 with a 90.00 fee. She said I pay it all at the time it is due (from my chckng accnt.) I will not be charged again. Will they take money that isn't owed from my account? I alos have one loan pending with fast money 911 for 400.00 with 120 fee. Please tell me if I should just cancel that one, and how to avoid being overcharged on the first 300. Thanks!!!

I just received a call from them asking that I or my legal rep call them. I have had 4 payday loans out. Paycheck today I have paid 625 on 300 Astro Loans I have paid 270 on 300 United Check I have paid 270 on 300 Little Loan shoppe I have paid 460 on 300 I have sent all of them C and D letters. The two that I still owe $30 I have acknowledged that. I have canceled that checking account and I no longer work for the company I had when the loans were taken out. What do I do with these people. I have not talked to them yet. I tried to call but noone answered.

My husband recently recieved a letter in attempt to collect a debt for US Bank. He called Leading Edge Recovery where they told him that his account was given to them from IDT Carmel. This particular account was given to them in 2004, not one letter from them.... hmmmmm. He asked them for thier contact information and he was told he cannot have the information but they would conatct them for him (YEAH RIGHT!). So we called US Bank and talked to a family member who is a manager and she told us we never had an account (we already know that) and she is looking into it.

My wife received a call from a CA wanted to settle a BofA cc debt from 2002. It was charged off in 2003. She is disabled and will never be able to work again. She does receive SS. I have read that since she is over 40 and disabled, he chances of being sued are slim. Is this true? Also I think the SOL is beyond it date for Florida. Any thoughts?

I received a Summons through the County of Los Angeles from Brachfeld and Associates. I'm trying to find out if I need to use a form or just type a letter to respond. Either way, I need to respond as soon as possible. Is there a sample letter? Or is there a form I'm suppose to use? Please help.

I cancelled my dmp effective today. The "deal" Amex wanted was riduculous. It's cheaper to pay it monthly myself. Anyhow, I want to be sure the debt mgmt company cannot continue the automatic withdrawals from my account. I do trust them that they will cancel my account as requested (everything else has been on the up and up) but would feel better verifying myself. So, what do I need to do to ensure that no further payments are permitted to them through my bank? We bank with BOA. Thanks-

I'm working with a few credit cards to come to an agreement. I'm about 4-5 months late on all three of them but I'm scared they will charge-off before I'm ready to accept an offer. Does talking with them weekly help me delay the charge-off? What is the typical charge-off time frame for Chase, BOA, and WaMu?

I've now gotten a call from a man-no name ever left, who stated that he spoke to me a couple of months ago and I need to call him back otherwise they will close out the account. Ok, he's never left his name or the company he is calling for or what the matter is he is calling about, just a # 800-937-1138 to call him back at. So I called the # & found out that it is CBSI. Some research found CBSI to be a collection agency and they are untrustworthy and have bad tactics.
