Where can I find a reputable loan company, who will consider a personal loan for someone who has less than perfect credit?

Tonight my brother called me and said he had a message on his cell phone from a collection agency. Anyway they did not leave personal information but it still makes me angry. I thought all of PDL issues were gone forever. Well, I called the number back and spoke with Mrs. Garcia, she told me I had a loan with Quickest Cash Advance. I know they are MTE. I told her everything about the Letters that were sent to them by the State of OK and MI. She gave me completely wrong dates o\f when this loan was obtained.

I have a question about arbitration and enforcement of the award. Back in July of 2008 I received notification from Mann Bracken on behalf of arrow financial services that they were taking me to arbitration over a old HSBC credit card back in 2004. We both filed our responses to the National Arbitration Forum and need less to say Arrow Financial Services/Mann Bracken wins in the amount of $3,000.00 (original amount 2,700).

I was just hit with Unifund recently via a garnishment my job notified me of. I wasn't even aware that any "case" was being taken to court. I called the law firm listed on the paperwork and they told me they made several attempts to try and contact me (via an OLD address i had not lived at in 5yrs) but then a few min later told me they had my work info. If they made every attempt to contact me how come they couldn't contact me via my work info? Further more, this was a credit card from 7 going on 8yrs ago for Citibank with a $300 limit.

Debt Pointer anyone? Has anyone dealt with this agency? I'm afraid to give information to them without hearing from someone that has had personal experience with them. Please help.

If I know the name of my collector at the collection agency, do I address the letter to him or to the collection agency? I don't want to say Dear Mr. So and So and the account be passed on to another collector at the same agency because I specified him and not the collection agency. Does that make sense. I am afraid if I hit him with a C and D letter, validation letter, and a removal of credit enquiry that he will find a loop hole. Thanks! Jen

I appeared at the Madison County, IL court today to answer consent of judgment for a small claims amount of $5,832.95. I spoke to their attorney and she referred me to her legal assistant, who asked me questions about my employment, how much I can pay monthly, etc. I'm about to start a new job in the next couple weeks, 35-40 hrs a week, $10/hr. She directed me to contact the law firm by phone and attempt to negotiate a payment plan. Does $200 initially and then $100 monthly sound reasonable? I have not yet contacted them, but I'm hoping that this will come to a resolution soon.

Has anyone had any recent success in dealing with this company? I made a deal with them to pay back $1200 on a loan that I took out. They took the money out weekly out of my bank account. I was keeping an eye on how much they were taking. They took out $1300 out of my account. I was able to stop all further ACH transactions from my account. That is when my phone started ringing off the hook.

I received a call from a Clara Mason from this number. She said the name of the law firm but it was not clear. Actually, it sounded like she was almost trying to mispronounce the name. Does anyone know this number: 845-678-1276?? I see a couple of other postings on the website about this number from about a year ago but no one seemed to know anything at that time. Does anyone know who it is? She left me a message said it would be in my best interest to call back before 5 p.m. today. I don't even get home by then. What should I do??
