What can I do? They authorized a $500 loan that they put into my account and I didn't know that it was in there. I have automatic withdrawls for my other bills in which those withdrawls chewed into this $500 so now I owe them. They charge me $150.00 every 2 weeks to keep this damn thing active. I was told my total balance is $650.00!!!! I tried to call and talk to them and I get NO WHERE! I live in Ohio what can I do? Should I close my bank account? If I close my bank account will I get charged for not having the funds? Thanks, Jeff

Im ready to settle- what should I do?

17 years 8 months ago
I have two debts, roughly 5k total- one is with portfolio services and one with pinnacle credit services-- they are 2 years old. None-the-less, Im ready to settle and would like help from a professional that knows my rights and also could negotiate for a lower amount. I have the money now so I don't need a "plan" or an escrow arrangement. I guess I just need someone more knowledgeable, that can negotiated better. Any suggestions?? debt settlement company, a lawyer?? I live in Charlotte, NC.

CPD/Cease and desist

I have been fighting with paydaymax/Credit Protection Depot about that should have been paid off a while ago. I took a $300 loan and when it defaulted I made payment arrangements which they never followed through with. Then in steps Credit Protection Depot. They are saying I owe almost $1000.00. I finally faxed a cease and desist letter saying they could no longer call. The fax went through. The next day, they called once again. Isn't that illegal? I faxed the letter again. I know you should send a certified letter but I didn't have a chance. What should I do?

Debt Settlement Program vs. Chapter 13---which to do?

17 years 8 months ago
I am currently reviewing my options, and this is my 2nd or 3rd post...Meeting with a local attorney to see if I qualify for a chapter 13 bankruptcy..............Is one better that the other.....I would rather do the debt settlement program, but weary that will still get suid or have garnished wages anyways...Any input would be appreciated! I've been recently harassed by these people as well, A lady named Mrs. Spellman from GEM called my place of employment and left a message for HR in regards to my employment with the company. When told about this i went to equifax and had a credit report sent to me. I then noticed that an enquirey was made by The LAw offices of Gerald Moore and so i called them to see what it was in regards to. I was put on the phone with Mrs. Spellman who informed me that this was a debt from Household Credit which ended in late 2004. The credit limit was $525.00 the ending balance with interest was $1200.

Pre-Judgements

If a company has submitted your information to a legal firm, and that firm has already submitted your information to the courts to file suit against you, what is my options if I call that company to try to rectify the debt and they will not adjust the late/overdraft fees and is requiring to pay more when I just can't afford to? I am just trying to recover from 2 garnishment back to back in the past 2yrs that cause this mess in the first place and I just can't deal with this again. The company says I owe $1246.80, payoff $980, $624 down payment, at $150 a month.

Stop paying cc, keep charging on it?

17 years 8 months ago
Thank you for looking at my questions. I plan on making my last credit card payment this month. I assume it would be best to stop making charges on that card. Right? Is it better to not have made any charges for a period of time before ceasing payments? Also, can you negotiate a settlement with one cc company while staying current with other cc's? Thanks again.
