I don't think they are going to close down here in OHIO. When the law was signed earlier this summer they stopped running ads, started saying they are laying everyone off...Now the ads are back and they seem to be in full swing!!! What gives??? Reny

I also had takin out a loan from this company and have no contact # for them. The # I have will not let you speak to a representative.

I see it posted 3 times....I guess I don't know what I'm doing. I won't try to look at this one...tha's what I thought I was doing!!

I wrote before about 2 accounts my decesased boyfriend took out and put me on the accounts as co-signer, I think. The accounts were in both names (his was primary) until he passed away then his parents (probably) had his name removed and the bills and calls started coming to me. Someone here (thank you) said I will need to file a police report to get this resolved. I don't want to cause his family any more grief. Since he has died, what would the PD do with this report? I also read on the internet that some PD's don't want to take reports for this type of thing.

Hi everyone, This is a little long but please bear with me. I could use some advice. I have just received a letter from Weltman Weis. They are the third agency that LVNV has passed my BoA account to. I sent DV letters to the first two. It only took 2 weeks after the last letter went out until WW got the account. The debt is a BoA account. It was a little over 5K when I defaulted in 06 and now they are up to 7400. Right now I am getting back on my feet. I am making progress with my other creditors.

I am currently on a hardship program with Discover. They have reduced my payments by about 50% and reduced my interest about 12%, but did not reduce the amount i owe. My question is: Should I also ask them if they can also reduce the amount i owe? Has anyone ever had success with this? Can I continue making payments as well as asking them to reduce the amount i owe? Thank you everyone. God bless

I noticed on a collection agency letter recently that they said "If I didn't get back to them within 30 days, that they would assume the balance owed was correct". The letter is from several months ago and I never really looked to see what the exact wording said until today. CAN THEY DO THAT?

I have about $3000 credit card debt....can not get a loan---its it better I just not pay them since credit counseling says I am too low in debt? I am on disability. I do not want to say I do not want to pay them but its getting harder to pay and making the monthly is going nowhere. any ideas?

of how I got into debt and feel that it will never end. I filed bankruptcy three years ago and was cleared of all debt in December 2005. Due to a divorce and a scumball ex husband, I lost my house in August 2006 and had to move right away into something else which was an expensive townhouse (landlady waived the deposit which looked good at the time). Stupid me decided I needed to restore my credit and started applying for credit cards. I got one right away and like a fool started charging and paying my utility bills with it. One card led to another and before you know it I have four going on.
