if the credit card debt has been written off by the bank. can the collection agent try to garnish your wages

I sent several C&D letters and faxes to Web Pay Day to NOT call me anymore and deal directly via US Mail or email. they continue to call and call.... Is this a violation of the FDCA or not?

I have a payday loan with a company that was originated in Utah. I closed my checking account and of course that promted them to send my account to a collection agency. That collection agency is in New York and from what I can tell New York prohibits payday loan lending. So how can this collection agceny force me to pay on the payday loan when they are illegal in their state? I live in Minnesota.

I think everymember here should post a recipie that doesn't cost a lot to make and then we should turn it into a cookbook and all proceeds will go to the DCC community to help keep the site even more productive? Do we know anyone in publishing?

Well my kids were released from school for the summer today. All I can say is thank goodness my husband is getting paid on Friday because that grocery bill is going to triple as they won't be getting breakfast and lunches at their school Mon-Fri. I've always shopped cheap for groceries with the eception of a few items and with them in school I am able to scrape by on about 450 dollars a month. While I love my kids being able to have their break I will miss the luxery being in school provided for my pocketbook. I am going to have to think of some new fun things to do around the house.

I am trying to sell books on amazon media mail. Where do I get boxes to mail the books, does the post office provide them. Thanks!!!

I have people calling me stating that they have a claim in their office for me but they never state what for. How come when collectors call they never leave messages or send anything via mail, if they want their money so bad.

How long does a debt stay on your credit report? I have debt form 2000 and lvnv funding is just now trying to collect for it. I thought after 7 years, debts fall off yourcredit report.

I know there is not going to be a exact answer, but how long about will a Credit Card Company wait until they send an account to a Collection Agency if you stop making monthly payments all together ? J

Hey everyone, I used to post on a regular basis here when I was going through a ton of garbage like most of you are now. I too got harassed daily by the scum of the earth known as debt collectors. I had well over $10k in credit card and PDL debt and it was very tough for me to make ends meet. Was it buy food or shut up a debt collector?
