Several months ago, I consolidated a few payday loans through Town & Country Acceptance Corporation. Everything was going fine until recently when received a letter from National Credit Adjusters in Hutchinson,KS. They said they had purchased one of my Payday loans from the original lender and that I owed them $4,487.50! When I called them and informed them that the balance was actually $173.00 and that that particular account was being handled by T & c, they tried to act stupid. They said that it was interest! Has anyone else dealt with this company?

Hello all, has anyone tried settling their accounts with their pdl companies? I am to that point because I cannot afford to pay a pdl consolidation company and figured the only way to do it is to "settle". I am so far behind on my payments that I don't even know how much I paid into them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :lol:

Hi Everyone, I have recently found my county's website and was able to find out how many cases Cashcall has filed against my fellow citizens--and was floored. But, I also found out most of the judgements they won were by default, because the person never showed to court! Most of the cases were dismissed. The lesson here is that if you are sued by them (as I was) you MUST go to court. Do NOT ignore them. Oh, and my case was dismissed without prejudice, which means they could file against me at anytime. So I am going to work on clearing this up.

Hello. I am on SS disability. I have not worked in over 10 years. My student loans are over 17 years old and I thought the SOL had long since run out and I didn't have to live in fear of the CA's anymore, but I guess I was very wrong. My husband just received a call at work. The man was very rude and demanded to know my maiden name, my address, and where I worked. When my husband asked who was asking, he was told they didn't have to give that info. My husband told them this was not his debt, it was none of his business and that they were not to call him at work anymore.

Hi. I just got off of the phone with webpayday and they are going to sell my account to a third party ca tomorrow if I don't pay them $520 today. First of all, they completely ignored the fact that I requested to be contacted by usps or email. I don't even think they have read my complaints. There is NO WAY I can come up with $520 today. I legally owe them $240. I made a proposal to pay $50 to them each pay period until my LEGAL balance is paid. Of course, they refused. I am at a loss. In a way I think it would be better to go to a ca, but I am still a little afraid of that.

My debt has been charged off, and was wondering if it is too late to hire someone to help? I was considering filling out the information form on this site and talking to one of the debt settlement companies. How many debt settlement companies does this site work with, a handful or many? The only reason I ask is I would like someone that I can trust. I don't have the energy anymore to handle this by myself. Thanks for any help.

I defaulted on 4/25 i figured they would at least harass me on the phone for a few weeks....I would rather deal with a collection agency anyway they have stricter laws to abide by.

Anyone have one I can use? I am in the middle of war with the PDLs... won a few battles and am fighting the others.... I am doing well. A few of them marked my account paid in full for signing off that I wouldn't file complaints or pursue legal action. A few of them want just the principal I owe, which is cool and some want it all... so far its going well....the calls have stopped with my letters and they only contact me via email. I want a debt validation letter to send to those fighting me. thanks everyone!

I recently received a debt collection letter from midland credit management in an attempt to settle an outstanding acct with Spiegel. After some research on Midland and reading of the horror stories on people dealing with them, I have been very concerned about how I should go about dealing with them to pay off this debt. As a note the original Spiegel account shows as a 'charge off' on credit reports. I am in a position now to pay off this debt but just need some advice as to how I should get started.

How to record phone calls ? Call 800-601-1579 and choose option 2. The system will then ask you for your 6 digit numeric user id. Enter that. Then the system will ask you for a 10 digit US phone number to call. Enter that. Well, I am assuming the phone system isn't working to record calls, I just tried it and got "Mick" (I think) voice mail. When will it be working, anyone know please? Or am I doing something wrong, help! Also: Once calls are recorded how do I listen to them ? They will be available in your member area once you log in. On the left panel.
