My credit cards are all WAY past due - I have about 18k in credit card debts and 15k in student loans. I have budgeted myself so that I am able to put $100 away every week - that's about saving $5,200 a year - so in three years I could feasibly pay off almost all of my credit card debt and then continue that process to finish off my student loans in another three. I really had to cut back on things but found I could still get by. Is this a better solution then filing for bankruptcy?

I would like to know if closing an account could effect your credit report. I just got an discover card. I wanted to only use it to transfer a balance, but realized that it was for only 3.9% 6 months and I was looking for 0% apr for one year on balance transfers. Since I have not used the card can I close this card without effecting my credit score.

There is an old saying "The person who goes to court alone has a fool for a lawyer." This may not be entirely true in some cases but the majority of us are not equipped to walk into court with little or no experience and think we know all the tricks and traps that await. It has been exactly one year, shy one day, since my joining this site. I have read countless posts on how to "move for a vacate with prejudice" if the other side doesn't show up.

Is it okay for a CA to call from a restricted number? I thought they had to show their number?

Hi, I will appreciate any help anyone can offer me. I am in michigan an currently have 5 paydays loans out via the internet with eagle finance, usfastcash, loanshop, ameriloan, and discountadvances. I have stopped my direct deposit but threw continous debits from the paydayloans my account is overdrawn $1000+. Can I close my account with an overdraft? I want to pay the bank because I don't want to be caught in chexsystems, it is very difficult to get out of that. I explained to the pdls that I could pay $25 every 2 weeks but they told me they couldn't accept that.

I have a summons to appear and was wondering what can happen.Citibank was the card but was boughten out by unlimited assets.I was written off in 03/2004 but unlimited assets filed this 1 month before my 4 yr statue of limitations was up.My question is what can happen to me? I live in Texas.Can They Garnish my wages?Put a lien on my house? Do I have to pay this third party? Any help would be greatly Appreciated. Thanks Gary

I have been in the payday loan cycle in the past, I closed my bank account and eventually got things straightened out. I know how everybody here, myself included, thinks of payday loans. I desperately need your help and yes, I know how wrong these loans are. I am in a tough spot here, flat broke and then some, pay day is a week away, I can't get any help from my emplyer or credit union and I have to get some cash for gas and food for my 5 year-old daughter. Does anybody know of a payday loan company that I can get a loan from considering my horrible teletrack record.

Does anyone know if Little Loan Shoppe is licensed in Michigan?

Are the internet PDLs---Loan Shop, Impact, Summit Group LLC, United Cash Loan, 500 Fast Cash,Sand Point Capital, Electronic Payment Process (Electpymtprocess), and Northway legal in Ohio? Are they licensed anywhere???? I have paid over $300 to each of these companies and at my wits end.
