OK, I know that I have been slow in posting an update on my trip, but am going to try to fill everyone in real quick. It was a good trip, although I was beat by the time I got in Wednesday night. I got in to San Antonio late and had to pick up my rental car....then got lost trying to find the hotel. There was a lot of road construction going on and detours, so it was a mess. I got into my hotel and got to bed around 3:30/4:00 AM (NC time). I had been up for almost 24 hours since I had to work Wednesday. Did end up missing Kyle's Airmen's run but did make it to the Coin Ceremony.

Hi I have an unusual situation and I am at a loss on what I should/can do. Today I received a phone call from Creditors Exchange informing me that a summons would be sent out to me on Friday from my county courthouse regarding case ###. Then she asked me if I knew anything about this case and lawsuit? She insinuated she was from a law firm and was trying to help. She knew that the debt was not mine so she wanted to give me heads up on what was happening.

I called the attorney today that is taking me to small claims court. The date isn't till May. I told them they never provided proof that the debt was mine and they said they did. All it was was 4 pages of computer paper with credit card transactions on it. I told them they need more proof, such as a signature of mine or a billing statement or a signed contract. They said they don't have to do that by law and to pay up. I said, "se you in court with a counterclaim". Am I right? Or did I open up a can of worms?

okay I have $11,000 in debt about 6 years ago that is going to be falling off my report over the next year or two and I'm paying off the remaining 2 items on my report that are totalling under $2000. This is the problem I haven't taken out any credit in YEARS, the bills I'm paying off are old phone bills and a bank account my exhusband left in the red and for some reason they decided I was the easier target to get their money. Anyway where do I start to get credit?

What experiences have people had with the cease and desist letters they've sent to PDLs? Do they work, or do the PDLs ignore them and call you, your references on your applications, and your employers anyway?

Yes, my husband and I are in South Carolina ans have so many of these payday loans out I can't keep afloat anymore. Is there anyone who can give me advice how to go about paying them down. Thank You!!!

one of the debt collectors that are on my credit profile no longer exists. how am i supposed to take care of that? is it likely that they would have sold it off before they went belly up? i havent got any notices about it or anything. if by some miracle of god they did go belly up and didnt sell it off would a dispute with the credit agency handle it? also (while you looking) i have two collectors listed trying to collect the same doctor bill. i am going to send a letter to both places to verify the debt and obviously the one that actually provides me with proof will get the money.

I'm so excited! Got a call today from Credit Protection Depot. Hemmed and hawed about calling back but I finally bit that bullet and dialed in. A young woman answered my call and after giving her the extension number, which was busy, she asks if she can help. I hesitated at first but then I said what the hell. She checks my file and tells me that I owe $452.68 on my my cash now loan of $300 to which I have already paid $301 and change. She then proceeds to tell me that I owe $542.68 on my "other" loan.
