I had a Sears credit card that was charged off and LVNV Funding took over. I was contacting last June from a Attorney's office regarding paying this bill. They asked me to set up monthly payments which I did. I gave them 4 post dated checks for four months. After the four months I spoke to the attorney's office again in October to set up 4 more post dated payments. Well in November to my surprise I received a summons from my local court house in reference to this account.

In Massachusetts PDLs are illegal. There are none that are licensed. In Massachusetts however I was able to get a loan from online PDLs. I am planning on paying and doing all that is agreed upon, but in the event of the first hints of a problem I plan on closing my account. I have Massachusetts law on my side, right? The only thing that concerns me here is that I keep reading that UnitedCashLoans never acknowledges correspondence, whether by fax or email to go ahead and get paid in full. I have yet to read a story where at least sometimes everything went as planned.

OK peoples, I have made a grave error, I did something a couple of weeks ago that I SWORE I would never do again, yep, I got a storefront pdl. Yeah, someone needs to tie me up and beat the living crap out of me, because I was finally out of the hole when temptation called. :shock: I didn't get this loan for petty purposes, I was in dire need at the time, it was only for $200.00 bucks, BUT, that money fed my sorry ass and helped pay for much needed medication that I otherwise would not have been able to get.

I have been dealing with AA for several months now and am not getting any resolution. I first sent them a letter in November requesting debt validation. What they sent me was a piece of paper that says debt validation at the top, lists the creditor name and original amount, fees, and balance. I had requested that plus other items for example that the statue of limitations has not expired, the original contract, and that they actually own the debt just to name a few. I sent them another letter in December requesting validation again with no response.

I have the laws for Texas already but was curious about something. If a payday loan company operates out of, let's say Nevada, and they provide a loan to a customer in Texas, do they have to obey the Texas payday loan laws?

I have read here at the forum conflicting statements regarding EPP. Some have said you must go to the store front, 3 days prior to the due date of your pdl loan, some have said 2 days, and others have said 1 day. What is it? Three, two, or one day prior to the due date? I am very confused as to which is the correct one. Thank you!
