I had 4 payday loans that I could not keep up with anymore. So I canceled my bank account. Now I am being contacted by collection agencies who want me to set up payments using my checking account to pay big payments. I am scared to do this - what are my options?

i feel like venting to that judge that signed the default judgment last friday concerning me and palisades. it is sticking in my "craw", southern expression if you don't know, and i just need to let some of the steam out. do you think this is appropriate and what about the letter below? know it won't do anything and don't want to draw unnecessary attention..that i don't need. but wanted to put here to get opinions. the judge has a webpage connected to the county and an email addy. i am sure (if someone can confirm this) that he does not see his emails first. his staff does??

Many people ask me why I am so dedicated to helping those in chexsystems. Well here is my personal story. About ten years ago my husband and I had an account that became overdrawn when we were hit with charges on the account for two airline tickets that were not ours. Of course we did what anyone would do and we called the bank. The bank filed a dispute on our behalf but in the mean time we had fees all over the place from the checks that were returned.

I have spoken with someone from American Credit Counselors about consolidating my debt and so far everything sounds good. However, I have been researching and found that creditors treat debt consolidation (not debt settlement)as bad as bankruptcy. Is this true? I've heard conflicting information and not sure which is correct. I read somewhere else that there is a somewhat negative notation made on your credit report when you are on a debt consolidation plan but it is removed once the debts are paid. So what happens when it is removed? Does your credit score look better?

I got a cc in 1998 and made pymts till 2004. the collection agency told me they did not want my money and the creditor charged off my acct. the creditor is now trying to sew me.. can they??

I was invited to this site by 2nband, who frequents another forum I hang out at. Like everyone else, I have my own share of debt. Most of mine stems from bad choices as a young adult, and an irresponsible ex-husband who caused me to sink further into the land of debtdom, lol. A lot of things I've paid off or down. A few things I've disputed. Either way, that divorce was final in 1999, so most of my debt is either past, or nearing the 7 year mark and although I still have a credit score in the low 600's, I'm getting there. Hope to learn some tips here, and offer any advice that I can. :)

I received a voice mail today from PDM Associates; I believe the name of the company is Phoenix debt management Associates - anyone heard of them? They said if I didn't call back in 24 hours, they'd "proceed without me." (huh?) They were calling on behalf of CMG payday loan who'd apparently somehow got their grubby little fingers into my bank account for biweekly payments (I'd had other payday loans, but I'd never signed up with them) I've been working with the Maryland office of Financial Regulation, and those folks have been a great help to me.

Spoke to the Ind Dept of Finance today and I was told that they spoke to National Credit Adjusters and they told him that they were not aware that they bought illegal loan debts and they were going to sell them back. FYI
