Hello all! I'm glad I found this place, I actually found it via a Google search for allied interstate. I was verifying that they actually existed, since the guy calling asked for me and did not say who he was or who he worked for until I asked him. I would like some advice on what I should do: I had a Sprint/Nextel account, and proceeded to fall behind on my payments when I lost my job. I had other things to pay off first, so I put them on the back burner, during which time GC Services Limited Partnership took my case over.

I am in foreclosure so my credit started dropping from the 700 to the 500. I have 2 credit cards...one for 13K and the other for 8K. Since my credit is bad, i am going to let them go to collections and try to settle. Im afraid of wage garnishment. Is this rare or common for a creditor to spend legal money on this. How fast to they file for garnishment. If I just went late...would I have months or years before they did this?

I am being sued by a debt collector; they answered my DV by sending me their invoice that has their name and the amount I owe. And in their letter they said they bought the debt. What do you think is that good enough to validate a debt? Please help

The "law office" of this rent a lawyer collection agency left a tape message at my job, at my home and at my in laws saying I was to contact their office about an important legal matter. Is that not a violation of the fdcpa to divulge that to my in laws? I am sure that this is a PDL that they bought.

I just received a call from Nikki from Glacial Star Group at work. The caller ID # is 800-944-0028. The lady asked for me and tried to trick me as if she knew me..."Lourdes?...." she asked as if she knew me. When I asked who is calling, she said "Stop playing games, I know who you are." I told her that she needed to leave a name and a number and I would pass the information to Lourdes. She kept saying that she wanted to talk to my supervisor or manager and I told her that there was no one here with me. I eventually hung up on her because of her attitude.

My husband and I have accrued alot of credit card debt. In 2006, became unable to pay. MANY accounts charged off. Being hounded day & night be collection agencies. We refinanced our house in 2007 and paid some of the accounts which show paid charge off. Now the worry is a bigger mortgage, which next year the interest rate is schedule to adjust and go up. Fico scores are terrible. In fact mine was around 500 prior to refinance, paid off some accounts, went up to 560 in September. Have been paying everything else on time and now scores down to 486 in January.

HI. I am currently going to file for banckruptcy. But my husband does not want to. Both of our debts is high. He has about 25k. He is NOT the type to try to settle a debt with creditors (if it were me, I would try to do on my own). But he hates talking to creditors and would not be the best negotiator. 1) Is it possible to do everything through letters or would he be forced to talk to creditors? 2) since he wont do negotiating, should we just hire a company? any highly recommended?

Anyone know how to find the Ohio Median Income for a family of four or a family of two?

If I have an open bank account with Bank of America but have had some NSF charges have I been reported to Chex System or does that happen only after an account has been closed by the bank? I have been with BOA since 2002 and just recently (due to PDLs) have NSF charges.
