how do you negotiate with your credit card company to to reduce your debt?

I told my mother in law about my sister in law's kids (who has been living with us since August)and the problems we have been having, trouble with the kids school, fighting with each other all the time. Lost of emotional trama and stress between the kids(I have 4 she has 3). We were dipping into our over draft protection inbetween every pay period. I just really was venting. My mother in law has been more of a mom to me than my real mom since I was 15 (not my real mom's fault but that's another story).

i'm about to sign up with a debt management company. i did a counseling session on line that lasted about 40 minutes and was recommended this would be the best way to go. I was faxed a copy of the complete agreement, including proposals to the cc companys to be negotiated. this company wants a $75 start up fee and $50 month to handle 15 accounts. They also want to collect the first months fees to the cc companys to start the process. that payment is towards the cc compnies first months fees, not an up front fee to the dmp company. Is this pretty much common practice among the dmp programs?

Okay, MTE what a joke. They basically told me that I still needed to pay the principal even though the loan was for $300.00 and I have paid $500.00 so far. I am not sure what to reply with or do i just ignore the email from them. I am not paying them another cent. They also said that their company is legitimate. Funny hugh.
