I received a Writ of Garnishment. The creditor attempted to take funds, but the funds were not in the account, so the bank did not give them anything, but charged me the processing fee. Can I close the bank account without any legal action being taken against me?

: I found out that a suit against me was filled in Harris County on September 10, 2012. I moved out of the County on June 29, 2012. The only reason I was made aware of a suit against me was because my mail was forwarded. I received a letter the week of October 8, 2012 from a Houston Attorney wanting my business to represent me on my case. I looked on-line and sure enough I saw the suit filled. I also saw on the that a petition was filled on September 26, 2012 with a code reading : CV-CITATION 534-OUT OF COUNTY What does thee CV-citation 534 mean? Do I need to file a petition also?

i have found out payday loans i have are illegal in va. i have a credit line with cashnet usa is this lega in va,. and what is my responsibility on paying it. can someone please advise. thanks for all your help. i am working on the advice i have received from your forums.

I have seen several missed calls from this number 8778337257. However, i received a call today from another law firm telling me that i owe some loan money that i applied 2years ago from payday loans. I never had such a loan. They threatened me that i have to settle the debt with them or i will be taken to court. I told them i need to research the debt. They refused to send me information that proof i owe the debt. What do i do? please advice??????????

Hi everyone, I have a loan with Plain Green Loans and I now know from doing the research I should have done first (!) that they are a Native American lender and therefore not legal. I am up to date on my payments, in fact I paid $160 more than I needed to because I had the money to do so. I still owe another $300 in principal which I have every intention of paying, but I was wondering if it's better to start the process of sending the letters, etc NOW about the interest.
