Anyone ever use these books on consolidation/settlements?

18 years 4 months ago
I don't know if they are any good...would love some input! 1) Managing Debt for Dummies. The "Dummies" is usually very helpful. I have a book on auto repair & knitting. They do have a section on how to deal with creditors & how to negociate. 2) Solve You Money Trouble-Get debt collectors Off Your Back. Seems like another good book, has worksheets in it I believe & also tells you how to deal with creditors & how to negotiate.

I have a question in regards to SOL.

18 years 4 months ago
Hi. Due to relocation, I am currently living in the state where the SOL is longer than previous state. My question is SOL for my old debt will be expired pretty soon in previous state, yet I am not sure if this account will comply with the state I am currently in. I am in the process of whether this is actually my debt. Thank you in advance for your advice.

Get to know your neighbor

I don't know if this will fly well here but I thought it would be entertaining and interesting. The point of this thread it to learn one thing about another. The way this is going to work is that your first post will contain one piece of information about you. Each time you click on the thread to read others responses you will need to add another tid bit and so on. Remeber. Anything you post here can be read by others and this isn't meant to be some deep dark secret confesions! It's meant to be carefree and fun.

Aargon Agency is smoking something :)

18 years 4 months ago
So we DVed Aargon because of two listings under different names for the same account. They sent us a computer printout with the info for one of the accounts, never even mentioned the other account. Anyhow, this printout did not look like it came from the hospital (its a hospital bill apparently) so I decided to call the hospital. I gave them the account number and all they had was the account number and a dollar amount. Nothing else, no name, nothing.

Palisades is trying to screw me too...

18 years 4 months ago
I recently received another letter from these guys stating that they would give me a 50% discount if I paid them now.. I did call them and they are very rude in everyway.. My concern is that this is with AT&T just like some other people. I disputed these actions because they were fraudulent a few years ago. They were dismissed from my credit reports. How can they come back now and try to collect. They have had this AT&T account for some time now. They have requested that I get a police report and fill out an affidavit to dispute this with them. Any suggestions???? Thanks

Please help, trying to take care of this quickly

18 years 4 months ago
Please Help! I live in PA, storefront cashing is prohibited but I am unsure of the internet.com company law. I have tried to work out lower payments w/ some lenders but was not successful. I called my credit union and was told they could not put a stop on a ACH withdrawl transaction, that the Company had to do it. I really dont want to change my credit union, and close my account. I thought about changing my direct deposit to another account.

Lesson Well Learned

Got a phone call a little while ago. Did not answer it becuase well, I learned my lesson the last time. I waited for the voicemail to pick up and called it. There was a very snotty lady who told me I was to call her immediately or face legal action. My pdl collection agency radar kicked in so I thought why not find out who it is... hit the hid my id button on my phone and dialed. The same snotty woman answered the phone. I asked her what business this is and she asked for my number. I told her she did not need my number to tell me what business I have called.
