Hi. New to this site. I found you by surfing one company who checked on my report. How ignorant I am! I even do not know what exactly charge-off and write-off are, and the processes or steps creditors will take to report the credit bureaus.

I need financial help

here's my situation: i'm only 21 and already swimming in debt. What's worse is i have no money to pay even the smallest of bills, and my credit cards and overdrafted bank accounts continue to pile on the late and nsf fees. i have 4 credit cards, and one auto loan totaling 3,500 in cc debt, and 17,000 on my auto loan. the minimum payments on my CCs are 300, 450, 250, and 33. i'm behind two months on my auto loan wich would be about 900 to bring it current.

I took out 6 internet payday loans last month and now i am no longer working and they are due. my checking account is so far 158.00 overdrawn due to fees trying to go through. I got more due this weekend. I called one today and they told me to call back tomorrow. I am going to try to call everyone else tomoorow also to see what happens.

If the collection agency is not licensed to collect my current state, then they cannot do anything. Is it correct? I am living in the different state from when I had this account. That doesn't mean I wouldn't pay for what I owe, but just want to verify before paying for it. They just sent me a "funny" (I must say) like an lecture letter instead of valiation letter.

Questions to all. I received a call from debt consolidation company today. And I asked a question in regdras to SOL. Ok, I have been educated since I surfed this community thanks to you all that after SOL ran. Creditors and collectors cannot go after the consumers. Did I get it right? Yet, this debt consolidation company told me that they can go after me forever. And there is no such SOL in any states... I hope I understand SOL right...

I have been digging deeper in to each of these loans, reading their fine print etc. What I am finding is they are all saying. For example, usually Delaware, this transaction took place in Delaware, you took this loan in Delaware you are subject to the laws of Delaware. Legally you are responsible for this loan because it is legal in Delaware. Before I really stick to my guns I want to make sure I'm legit to hold them to my Michigan laws...Goudah, or anyone else that knows this stuff well??

So, now that I am 3 months removed from payday loans. Sold my house right before I lost it, moved 1600 miles, and start my new job on the 24th of this month I am FINALLY ready to begin the process of calling creditors and asking for settlements. My 1st question is: Is asking for a settlement and paying my bill off right away better or worse then going into a dmp. My 2nd question is: If I do go the way of settlement, what % of what I owe should I seek to pay. 40%? 60%? and where do I start?

If someone tells me they are sending papers to my county courthouse, how long would that typically take before i receive summons papers in the mail? I know it could take any amount of time they want. But if they stated over the phone and they were doing it, what timeframe would i be looking at. I sent validation letter, and havent heard back yet. So, just curious. Thanks in advance
