I am writing this in regards to my sister; she is in deep financial trouble with installment loans; she has several and although she is currently making the payments on them all, she has not been able to pay them off, and it is cutting into her living expenses; she has three children and no help from their father which is how she incurred the expense; she is currently in over her head and needs information bad, I was told that she should try to go through debt consolidation and that would help, one reputable debt consolidation company told us they don't consolidate payday or installment loans;

Recently, I finalized a divorce with impending financial disaster written all over it. My credit has been good and all of my bills have been paid (albeit some of them with late fees, but, never 30 days late). The problem I am facing is the reality of having accrued $25k in credit card debt due to having had to use the cards for legal fees, living expenses etc.

hi guys, i am having my brother negotiating with my credit card companies as he has a gift to gab and also is borrowing the money to repay these bills at a fraction of the balance. the question i had was i sent the crediters a notorised letter stating that i am giving the ok to have my brother discuss all matters with my accounts. well upon talking to them they told my brother that i would have to send them a power of attorney letter. does this seem right or r they giving me the run around. also once i give my brother the power of attorney his he legally responsible for my debts.

Is it legal for a company such as Westbury Ventures to take money out of a checking account without you even giving them the account info. We had one account that they kept draining...so we closed it out. We opened a new checking account..and went to the bank this morning, they had taken out 325.00...how would they have gotten our new account info?

The average settlement co charge insane commissions for a information based business. Most of the reps have little knowledge of the industry. As you can imagine collections is very trying on the soul. My partner and I decided to get out we have alot to offer in this industry. But we need your help.

I just found thisand was wondering what you all think. If I am reading right on their site. They do not loan in Iowa, MA, MI, NJ NY WI, and of couse WV. Has anyone just said, the heck with it & filed for bankruptcy? I am seeing a lawyer on Tues. I feel that I can pay thru bankruptcy court just as easily as thru a settlement company. My credit report will be screwed up either way. At least the harassing calls will stop, which they have not thru my settlement company.

I called this morning and to tell mr Fulton that I had reported him and nationwide to the AG of Ohio and New Mexico for their illegal practices of collecting. He informed me that I waived my rights to Ohio law and I was under the jurisdiction of New Mexico law.

I've been reading these boards awhile and done some independent investigation via word of mouth. I see many people here saying .. go to a credit counselor ... get on a plan ... it'll help you get out of debt .. then I ask around and hear horror stories from people who have done just that. So I will ask this.. fact or fiction about the following accounts. One person said they went to credit counseling got on a "plan" and this is what happened. Yes they made one payment per month to the counselor, bills were paid. Rates were negotiated for interest to be reduced etc etc. BUT ...
