Hi, I am really considering debt mgmt vs debt counseling whats the difference and how do we find out if the company is legit? I live in California.

I have yet to get any phone calls from my friends at the pdl places, kinda looking forward to them..is this bad? I am sure the calls will roll in today, but no emails no nothing.....

5/29/2007 Can a bank prosecute you in a court of law in the state of IL if you made a deposit in your checking account one day and the next day you checked on it and it was 5,000 instead of the 50.00 you put in and under extreem duress because of paydayloans, etc.; then I paid my bills on line from that checking account with it. Two days later they debited the 5,000 which was almost gone from the day before. Now what, I donkt have the 5,000, i still am trying to pay off my payday loans. Im so scared now. It is worst than ever before. Can they prosecute me and put me in jail.

I baught a home a year ago and truck a month before that. I would need to consolidate about $125,000 and take about 10,000 for remolding the rest of my home! I have property for collateral. Just never went to the bank and tried yet! Would love your help. Thanks, Michael Cheramie Jr.

I have too much debt in payday loans and would like to consolidate along with medical bills to pay them all off as they are consuming every paycheck and i can't get my bills paid anymore. Know of any consolidation companies willing to help?

same old story as most of them on here...I have about $20K of credit card debt that's starting to eat up the paychecks and I'm now having trouble making the payments each month. My spouse doesn't know about this amount of debt...as it's in my name on my cards. What's the best way to approach this sort of amount? I tried one consolidation loan, but was denied for it. I have no co-signer, and I can't get the spouse to co-sign, I'm trying to fix this on my own. Any ideas? Would a home equity loan work for this, and can I do it by myself?

If a husband and wife own a home together, can one or the other apply for a home equity loan on the home to consolidate debts, or do both have to apply?
