LVNV reports negative information on my credit reports. I get statements/bills from Capital. I asked for debt verification and validation. I was sent a copy of a 3X5 card(or paper) with a signature on it,that said the person who signed wanted a Providian account. (It was one of those yes, send me a card type things.) The signature resembled mine, however, how do I know that is the actual agreement and that is really my signature? They could have typed up a fake invitation and forged my handwriting. Is this signature validation/verification that I owe a debt to LVNV

between hospital bills and 2 collection agencies my huband and i are about $11,700 in debt and just looking for any option but bankruptcy.

My friend, Mark, has been declared disabled due to a debilitating, terminal disease. He was advised by his doctor not to work anymore and really couldn't if he wanted to because he doesn't have the strength. He had been on disability once before, then tried to work, worked for just short of 3 years and then once again became very ill and couldn't work. He reported to Social Security at the time that he was working and asked what he needed to do. They told him nothing, that he was allowed to work up to 3 years before any action would be taken.

Don't know if I posted this in the right section but, On the news tonight there was a story on payday loans. There is a study group made up of about 40 people (regular people, business people and state people) they are looking into the payday loan laws. They are also looking into the business that run payday loan storefronts. They think that these PDL places are taking advantage of low income people (hmmmmm really???) I placed a call to the person that is heading up this group because I want to be a part of it. He is supposed to be calling me tomorrow afternoon.

I was promised it would stop, the phone calls, odd hours of the night. But it didn't And we were paying till it was all paid. LMP stated it wasn't all paid, they made threats of jail time, contacting family members for us, They spoke as if they were above us. We knew we got caught up in the check cashing game, but, They acted like as if they were gawd. What gives, made lots of threats, and we couldn't even talk when we were on the phone with them before.

First let me say that this site is a blessing...Now onto the story. Last month I was in South Carolina spending time with my sick father. I live in NYC. I had some cash that I wanted to deposit in my Bank of America account. I deposited the money. I later check online to see that I had TWO $16k holds placed on my checking and savings account. I contacted Bank of America about this and they told me the letter authorizing this action was sent to my home. Being in SC I was not able to get it.
