I paid Van Rugh ca for a capital one card back in December, 2006, Finally got the paid in full notice yesterday. Does anyone know if this will reflect on my credit report? I am slowly trying to clean it up, two more accounts to go to have it all taken care of. But I am not sure if the ones that don't report, like Van Rugh, will help my score out or not. Capital one shows this account as charged off, the paid in full letter shows that Capital one is satisfied and the account is now settled with them. Any advice?

In July of 04 I wrote a check to a Kwik shop that got returned. Vericheck called me on 10-04 and I paid it over the phone. Now two and a half years later, goggins and lavintman are calling me and saying that I didn't pay it and that I owe them 140 dollars. I know that this is insane and not right. I have my bank print out for proof with ther verification number. I am afraid to give them any kind of information to my account after reading what everyone else has written. What do you think are my best options?

I guess I should start out by saying that I have been hiding debt from my husband for a long time. We have been married almost 18 years and have 3 kids. I have always worked in some way to bring in income, but did things (like daycare and work at home) so that I could stay home with our kids, so didn't bring in a full time income. My husband has always worked very hard. I think it all started when I did stay home with our first. I just wasn't able to say no to my husband when he wanted to buy something. I felt like he worked hard and deserved to have what he wanted.

If I live in TN, but the debts accurred in different states which SOL applies? My husband has several past credit derogatory items which caused us not to be able to quailfy for a morgage. I knew it was bad but did not know it was that bad. We also got screwed by a bad morgage consultant with 5/3 bank. ANyways, My husband has all these negative items on his report and a lot of them are from 2001 some haven't even been reported since then.

I then sent letters to the collection agencies asking for proof of the debt signed contracts etc and received no response. I did receive on statement from a collection agency that was simply on their letterhead, my ss# and an address listed I had never heard of with an amount due.

I am trying to find out payday laws in the state of texas. Westbury Ventures is still threatening legal action against me if I don't pay $710 on a $200 loan. They are charging me nsf fees, process fees and god knows what else. They won't give me a detailed report on what all these fees are for. Please help!!!!
