When one sends a "Cease and Desist" letter, will it hasten a decision by the CA to turn a file over to an Attorney to file suit? Also: I failed to send a validation letter within the 30 day period after I received the first correspondence from the CA. Is it too late to send one at this time? If the CA turns my file over to an Attorney,upon notice from the Attorney, am I within my rights to request validation at that time?

debt consolidation companies.. Are they any different from each other in bringing my total payment "together"? I called couple of them, and it seems like the total I have to pay is all around the same number, but the fees vary. Is the reputability of debt consolidation company will effect the total payment anyhow, or the banks already have the numbers in place for such consolidation programs? in a nutshell, im a 25 year old college student who is in about $20,000 credit debt (no loans). I am not delinquent on any of my accounts, but ive recently lost my job and can barely pay my rent, as well as the minimum payments on my credit accounts..(luckily parents pay my tuition, everything else is on me) i honestly dont know where to start, but what im looking for is to just make like one $500 or so payment a month to ease my way out of this hole.. i dont necessarily want to settle for anything less than i owe.

Hello, I wanted to start this new topic, my other one is ULC. I need help with the company that calls me about these three pay day loans that I have. I know one company is called dedit doctor and I can not remember the other two. I want them to stop calling me and I want to do everything by mail. But how do I know if they are going to just write and not call me. Also they say that I owe 2,000.00 still I have paid them so far through western union 650.00. Feb 27th was the last time I sent them a payment of 100.00.

Im running a business and i have too many bills to deal with and I want to get it onto one payment because I dont have time to deal with this many payments.

My question is there is an account from Bally total fitness which was a mistake on my part anyways I never paid one payment on the account which was opened in Dec of 1999. I received my free credit report last year and have been clearing up the negative items on it , but the Ballys account is showing as an accoutn in good standing Status is transfered closed. Creditors statement " Account transfered to another lender." If i have never paid anything nor spoke to a credit or or bally's about this account should it not be in the negative accounts on my report.

I have read many different opinions on various credit sites. In fact, one site stated collection agencies very rarely sue for credit card debt. Is this true or false?
