I need to know my rights. I received a call at 4:50pm on Feb. 1st, 2007 saying Henry Jay was an investigator and was filing check fraud charges against me first thing in the morning if I didn't pay $575 ASAP for a payday loan. I asked for the information and why I wasn't contacted earlier and he had no response. He just kept telling me that I would have my license showing a warrant and I needed to take care of it within 10 minutes. I live in MN. What are my rights?

I congratulate all those who were able to get out of debt. However I must share my story of how I am in more debt than before. Consumer credit counseling of America quoted me $270 consultation fee and forwarded my information to the law offices of Richard Brennan. It’s been a month now and I have received no called nor have any of my calls been returned. My bills are now 2 months late and consumer credit counseling of America only sent an email as an attempt to contact the attorney.

They never responded to my debt validation letter and posted the negative listing to my credit report. I think I should file a lawsuit against them.

long story short - my son was on an expensive injectible med. we would have qualified for free if my ins didn;t pay anything, but since they did pay a measly portion, I had a LARGE copay. I got help from an organization, which left me with $100 copay - so then he has an adverse reaction to the med & when I called the mfg pharmacy (NOva Factor)to cancel,I asked if I had a balance (since they were so sporadic with sending bills) they said no -don't have it in writing though.

I understand that the SOL on cc's in NC is 3 years. In taking that to consideration, I have a charge off on my cr that NCO is trying to collect on. The last date of activity was 30 days late OCT.03. Would it be out of the SOL??

Hello, i'm new to this community although been reading through some of the posts on here for a few weeks now. You all seem very knowledgeable and hopefully can lend some support/advice to me in my situation! I'm a 25 year old, working professional, living in PA while working in NJ. Last year, over the holidays, I (stupidly) applied for a few store credit cards, which turned into a few more, etc, etc... I was strapped for cash, just getting out of a bad situation with my live in boyfriend and thought that I'd eventually pay things off later, and felt the weight of the holidays on my shoulders.

Well I was turned over by Chase to these people after a job loss in my family. They sent me one letter and then actually called my mother in law (Who's 85) and my parents to try and get information on us. So as you can imagine our family now knows about our situation and are concerned (I think this was a ploy by NES). Then the day after this lady from NES had spoke with my dad, she calls me demanding that we settle that day at that time and she would get my dad on the phone for a conference call so he could help me with the money!

i need help to pay off my debt

I am being taken to court for a debt that is 6 years old. I looked at my credit report..It was purchased by a law firm. The debt total is 1350.00 plus court costs. Could someone advise me on SOL for Fla. How should I handle this situation? Make a payment plan with the law firm or show up at court date? I have been unemployed for 8 months due to an on-the-job injury. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.
