After speaking with Dept. of Financial Institutions today I was encouraged to start contacting my state's representatives and senators to share my experience with internet pdls to draw attention to this practice and to ask for legislators to act on the matter, anyone from OH could you please pm me to share your experience,(horror stories/etc..) I would like to forward these experiences with my letters which I am going to forward to my representatives and hopefully this will be start in getting laws enacted to protect consumers in the future. Thank you.

Just when I thought I was finally getting control of my situation, it falls apart again. I just cannot get this monkey called payday loan off my back. I had a loan with a storefront lender, and after renewing the loan 5 times, it has to be paid in full the 6th time. You have a 7-day cooling off period before you can reloan. Anyway, I was unable to pay the full amount when the time came. I had just enrolled in a settlement program and was trying to get my all the pdls taken care of.

A very rude guy from Capital Collections harassed me at my place of employment and then I responded by e-mail and he was stupid enough to be rude on the e-mail. Anyway...he says that he is going to prosecute me for writing bad checks and I don't know what my next step is besides filing a complaint with the Attorney General's office which won't get the debt paid. I was willing to make arrangements on what is a small amount, $275 but he says NO! Has anyone else ever had this problem?

The collections department called threatening me to pay or else they would send an investagation team to my work and to my supervisor and start garnishing my wages. I told them that they were in violation of Florida laws and that my "Lawyer" ( I do not have) said so. He said why you call lawyer this is a matter between you and our company.... I said because I felt I needed advise on how to deal with them.... he said no we are operating in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom and the laws of the united states do not matter!

Company/Individual reported: bcr for the past two years this company has been calling m house looking for debbie and arthur. please remove my number from your data base you have the wrong number !

Anyone know if PDL's are illegal in the state of Massachusetts????

I have been using the Law Firm of Richard A Brennen, through Creditcure and I am experiencing problems as well! My paymets were all being sent to the creditors and then come July they were not receving payments I was dropped by the program from a few places and now I am about to be dropped from another one from NO payment! This is HORRIBLE I need a new company!

i'm bein taken to civil court teh end of this month for a cc debt.. i am soo scared of what will happen even after talkin to 2 attorneys.. i live in pa and from y understandin they cant garnish wages.. teh thing that scares me teh most is sheriff sales or bank account frozen,, even thoughi barely have 15 left in account after monthly expenses and i only have basic furnishens in my home( no big screen tvs or sad to say not even a stereo system).. teh debt is only in my name so im xurious what if anything they could do to my husband.. house and bank account is in both names..

I honestly have just made some bad decisions, and hit some really hard times. I opened up a credit card to build my credit, then my boyfriend lost his j job, and I maxed out my card to fix his car ($1000) My car then blew up, and I had to buy a new one. I borrowed the money to pay it off from a friend of mine ($2000), because I couldn\'t afford full coverage car insurance (high risk driver). I\'m having a hard time making payments back to him. I also was enrolled in college for a year, and had to drop out because of money and stress.

I know this is where the pay day loan action is at! Ok I have just started the battle with MyCashNow, UnitedCashLoans, USFASTCASH, Cash2Day4U, Worldwidecash, Cash Transfer Centers. I have faxed letters signed with confirmations that they were illegally operating in Massachusetts. I stated I wanted to pay them but through a consolidation. I have not heard from any of them with the exception of Cash Transfer Centers who told me they don't charge interest but a fee. Which sounds like a legal loophole. Anyway if I don't pay them it will go to United Fidelity in Texas.
