Dealing with Asset Acceptance

19 years 1 month ago
Hi everyone. I have a small situation I would like some input on. While my husband was taking care of bills, he started making 100.00 a month payments to Asset Acceptance. Yeah OK. I didn't see any papers, stating the validity of the debt. Despite me saying we needed that he started paying them. That was 2 years ago. Last month he handed over the financial part of our marriage to me. I wasn't as involved as I should have been so far. Which brings us to Asset. We have not gotten 1 bill, or 1 statement from them in almost 2 years stating what our balance is. I looked at our credit reports.

Settling Debt

19 years 1 month ago
I have two debts I am trying to work out right now. I have a couple of questions. First: The money is owed, should I still validate? Second: I intend to negotiate a settlement in writing what do I need to know about making sure the agreement is valid and they can't get out of it Third: I read the article on how to mail things out and it is beyond confusing...any help on what I need to do to make sure it is confirmed? Thank you so much for any help.

Need Help Got a Call from Evergreen Collections

19 years 1 month ago
I received a phone call from Evergreen Professional Recovery stating that I owe $350 for some kind of "start your own business" service that I was to have signed up for from a TV Commercial. I was told I paid $35 membership fee and then I was to pay $350 for a "starter" kit but that the kit was never sent to me because I didn't pay the $350 but I still have to pay the $350 even though I didn't get the kit. This was suppose to have happened in 2004. She also told me that they have already turn a neg report into the credit bureaus.

My husband has been contacted also by Allied

19 years 1 month ago
hello, My husband has been contacted also by Allied. They have never sent mail or contacted us at home, but have called my husbands work and told the HR dept if he didnt call that day, he would hear from them tomorrow in a bad way. This is the only time we have ever heard anything about them. When my husband got home and called, the man didnt want to tell him anything about the debt. They even told HR they were the DOE. Finally my husband found out they are trying to collect on a student loan that was dismissed in bankruptcy back in 1988!
