How late can a creditor call for past due payments? What are the hours they can call? I just got a call at 8:00 pm ( a few minutes ago) from one of my credit cards which is with T&C. THey also called me Thursday and I called T&C and they said they would call them and tell them a payment was sent out Tuesday, July 11. To me I don't think T&C ever called them?? I told the person from the credit card collections that T&C sent a payment on Tuesday. I know when I call on Monday they will say what they told me on Thursday. THis credit card company hadn't gotten a payment since May.

For those of us who are disputing charges the term debt. verification comes up in reference to credit burea's confirming a debt with collection agencies. Well I don't quite understand what information is used to "verify" a debt. Apparently an account that we closed was sent to collections for $ owed after we closed it five years ago. We disputed it. Equifax just sent us a letter that the debt. was verified. When we contacted the collections agency, they said they didn't have any documentation from the original creditor (PacBell/AT&T).

Hi, we recently disputed a charge on telephone service (Pac Bell) that we canceled back in 2002. Ends up the phone company never stopped charging us and never sent subsequent bills. So we were in disbelief when we got a collections letter only two months ago. We took the proper steps in disputing the claim informing the collection agency and the credit bureas, however, the credit bureau's completed the "investigation" and verified the debt.

Well, I got bored today, so I went to www.thomas.loc.gov and did a legislation search for "Fair Debt Collection Practices Act". This is House Resolution(H.R.) 1660, "Payday Borrower Protection Act of 2005" While I haven't had time to read through all the results, this one caught my eye and I thought it would be of interest to many community members. This legislation has not passed into the Senate nor has it become law. The last action on this bill was in May 2005. The Bill was introduced by Congressman Bobby Rush (D-IL 1st District) in April 2005.

if i lost my great paying job that i originally could pay all these bills with on time and have a job now that pays half of what i made, is it still possible to get out of debt?

Hello, You guys have a great forum here so I'll see if you can help me. Basically to make this a long story short... Deposited some funds to a gambling site, and had trouble withdrawing, company kept avoiding me, so I had no choice to do a ach bank revocation to get my funds back. Next thing I know a collection agency is calling me threating me if I dont pay, it will screw up my credit report. I told them, listen, the gambling site avoiding me on my withdraw request and wont cooperate, what am i supose to do?

Is T&C a debt consolidation company or a debt management program

**I JOINED T & C BUT WHAT WILL THEY REALLY DO FOR ME** Im waiting for my contract by reg. mail, didnt have a fax machine to get it faster. What will t & c really do for me as I have so many ? to ask but they're are always buzy with thier lines, so maybe some can answers my ? thanks folks. 1- t & c said they will automatically payoff the creditors and the $484.00 pymt. will go to t & c , but im confused cause other members here have said differently.

Does credit consolidation ruin your credit? If you debt consolidate can you still use your credit cards?

Currently I have 7 yes 7 payday loans that I have no idea how to pay.. Everytime I try to get a company to consolidate my bills they say they will not cover payday loans.. I am working like 40 hours of overtime just to make the payments, and literally have nothing left over.. I keep hearing about this Company named T&C does anyone have any info regarding them, I am new to the site so please bare with me.. Also I am thinking of closing my acct before next friday which is when I get paid again and all the ACH transaction come out..
