Can someone please step by step explain the Ohio PDL LAws?

I have heard that if I consolidate debts it may have a negative impact on my credit score, which is already pretty good. Is that true? What are the negative effects of consolidation? Thank you.

Hey everyone, My wife and I are in over our heads, or it seems. We bought a house 2 years ago and since then we have been getting into financial trouble. Our first and second mortgages are 2 payments behind, our 2 credit cards (1 with a $5000 balance, the other with a $500 balance) are in collections, and payments to our lawyer and dentist are behind, as well as all of our other bills, besides the car insurance. The home owner's association fees ($400+) have not been paid and they're threatening to put a lien on the house.

Am I candidate for debt consolidation if none of my bills are in default? Meaning if nothing is overdue and I have kept up on all my bills is this still an option for me?

Bad News: Judgement against husband on 3/3/05 Good News: Judgement paid off on 3/10/05 False Good News: Judgement never appeared on any credit bureau's Bad News: YIKES it is on our 20 year old sons bureau. Obviously he needs to clear this off.... I know he needs to dispute with Trans Union. Is this going to be battle royal? I don't want to point them to who's bureau it should really be on. Yep dad and son same name Joseph J *****.. Pretty obvious, when you look at sons bureau that the judgement is not his. No previous derog credit, no accounts charged off that correspond to judgement etc.

I was reading a post in forum by a proud debt collector. This person has said that his firm pays the bills to the original creditor on behalf of the debtors hence they deserve a huge welcome. My thoughts: Debt buyers never pay the full amount to the original creditor and charge a high amount from the debtors, so where the nobility lies. It's nothing but business. For the sake of discussion if I accept the fact that they paid our bills, should not they ask us before paying it?

Anyone have any recommendations on a good tax attourney or accountant to help settle an IRS debt? I currently have a payment arrangement with the IRS for back taxes from 1099's that did not get paid. I receive quite a bit of junk mail from various attouneys/accountants telling me how much I can save. It kind of bothers me how they could have found out that I owe money and are soliciting so I do not trust any advertisements that I get. Has anyone had success in reducing their IRS debt and can recommend a good lawyer/accountant to do the same for me?

Hi im new here looking for a debt consolidation program. I hear alot about t & c but do not understand if this website is t & c or you are another a program. Hears my situation and am in need of help quick. I have these ? first and please note why im asking ? first because I have just been ripped off from a debt settlement program and lost lots of $$$$. Im in 20K + debt unsecured debts. Am now passed 2-mo. and all accounts are in collections cap-1 & citi- & dell financial.

Anyone else having login issues? I often have to login several times when I click around. I will login and be good in one thread and then when I goto another topic my login is dropped and I have to re-login again. Sometimes I will be dropped when I go to the end of a thread or try to post. Sometimes I have to close the browser and comeback in again to see posts that I just added. It seems to be getting worse. I had to login 3 times tonight. Some nights its even worse. I use IE 6 and have cookies set to medium-high. This setting is fine for other sites.
