Hi, I have an overdue credit card account with Clout Financial. They claim they have sold my account to some full service collection agency called Phillips and Burns LLC. I recently received a call from a representative at Phillips and Burns informing me that unless I could come up with the settlement proposal which is 1098 dollars by this upcoming Friday they would send out a summons for me to appear in court to pay the entire balance which is 1789(mostly interest..since the original credit line was 600 dollars. I am only 21 and have no idea what I have gotten myself into.

Good day all, Got an unknown call, just before I was ready to crawl in bed for the "night". My night anyway. Actually left a message, which is rare! No longer have CallerID, as rates were gonna make a rather large jump. Sounded like caller said this WAS a sales call and left the following number: 1-800-580-7611 Do not know anything else. Thought I recall the number, from a situation in the past, but I am unsure right now! If anyone knows the number, business, address etc....... I'd greatly appreciate any information!

I received a call from 303-294-5202 yesterday and when I called it back, it stated that the number had been disconnected or was no longer in service. I tried again and the same response. Does anyone have any clue if this is a new tactic by collection agencies?

I recently paid off a collection agency for a debt. I was told I'd be getting a copy sent to the court that the matter is resolved etc... However, I was told I'm responsible for informing the credit reporting agencies in order to update my credit report. IS this true? I'd assume if I paid, shouldn't THEY be the ones who should send copies of the paid account?

I joined Gold's Gym 2 years ago... I went maybe 15 times and then discovered I was pregnant and on doctor ordered bedrest. I signed a 1 year contract for 2 memberships to the gym and I didn't fight to get out early. I paid my fees as agreed upon up until the 1 year point. I went to the gym and signed the paper work to cancel the membership. No additional payments were drafted from my bank account afterwards, so I assumed that the membership was over and done with without any issues.
