response to debt verificaiton letter

19 years 2 months ago
Over a month ago I sent out several debt verification letters. Received a letter from an attorney in HOuston who had been harrassing me. He acknowledged receipt of my letter and said he was in process of verificaiton but that he needed more time and asked fro my patience. OK!! Does that mean since they could not verify in 30 days I can submit my origial letter and their response to credit agencies and have that old account removed from my credit report? What are my options, if any?

Hi everyone, Football Fever Fifa World Cup'06 Germany has come again. I know I'll get little time to watch the matches but I'll try to watch the big matches...Brazil, Argentina, Germany and most importantly USA. Our country is going to play its first match on 12th of this month. I'm definitely looking forward to this match. :D I'm very passionate and enthusiastic about football and would like to hear your reaction. I believe this time our players will perform better than ever. Come on guys..

Who is FNB Marin??

19 years 2 months ago
I some questions (obviously) lol. I applied for a job and agreed to let them pull my credit history. I just brought it home today and did not really pay much attention to it before because I have my other reports from February and it all looked pretty much the same except for this one entry. It says A F S Assignee of FNB MARIN. I've been searching and searching and all I can come up with is that it's a bank or credit card company and now I'm terrified because I don't know who/what this company is. Is it a bank? Are they a collection agency for a bank? Is it a credit card company?

Collection agency info by state

I have noticed in the past few weeks people have been asking about whether a collection agency has to be licensed. Here is the info to answer the questions state by state.
ALABAMA COLLECTION AGENCY BOND & LICENSE • Bond: No • License: Yes • Fee: o $25 - Population under 20,000 o $100 - Population over 20,000 • Exemption for out-of-state collectors: Business License not required for out-of-state agency.

This morning I got 4 phone calls from these jerks on a payday loan that was paid in full. They claim to be representing ZipCash. They have been paid and I told the woman that it was paid and to quit calling. Then she called back and told me I was going to be processed at noon today if I didn't pay them $845.00. I told her thank you for the threat that she just made me $1000.00 richer and she asked hows that? and I told her she just violated the fdcpa law and I would be filing a complaint against the company.

Gerald E. Moore

Well, thanks to Dana's help, I found out that the collection inquiry I saw two days ago on my credit report is from the famous Mr. Gerald E. Moore Attorney at collections. Oppps I meant law. :P Would the members like to give their opinions on how I should handle this gentleman and remember, he is not licensed to do business in my state. Bring in on members!

paying a judgement

19 years 2 months ago
location: San antonio , Tx I would like to know what is the law as it relates to paying a judgement. I lost a case ( a totally biased judge ) and know I have to pay about 1000 buck to a guy that bought the judgement for pennies on the dollar. Can I just pay whatever amount i want on a regular basis? In other words they are asking me to agree to a payment plan but i would rather just pay what I can when I can. If i sign a payment plan then Im stuck with that plan. If I'am paying something can they still go futher with the judgement?
