I just blasted them all with letters. So I found the addresses on my credit report and sent them all letters, (return receipt of course). In the letters, I wrote them and told them that the Statue of Limitations had run out OR that it had been 7 years since the ORIGINAL DEL

I can't beleive I did this today, but I stopped payment on my payday loans today and have letters ready to go to all of them that I can find information for them. I will be faxing or sending the letters tomorrow. I am sure I am in for a fight but I can't keep paying them. I want to thank everyone that posts information to these forums because that is where I got my strength and knowledge to do this. My bank is being very helpful and we are closing the account tomorrow. I had to wait until tomorrow because I have one more payment coming out of there tomorrow.

Hey all, I just got my updated credit report back from Transunion after disputing many items. I got 6 of them deleted on the first go around!!! As stated in previous posts, this is quite gratifying and I highly recommend to anyone. To not feel like the credit bureaus and creditors run my life and that I can actually DO something about it. PM me if you want me to send a PDF as proof that you can do this!!! PS I finally am signed in! :)

Does anyone know the SOL for collecting a debt in California? It's been 8 years since the last payment was made. If we don't pay the debt how long will it show? We want to buy a house someday.

I just saw on my credit report that this company "inquired" about me. What does this mean, and who are these people? I haven't applied for a loan or credit card in MONTHS!

Has anyone heard of them? Maybe it's the number that's been calling me the past 2 Saturdays! I just saw on my credit report that they listed a $750 debt on me?? I don't know who I owe that much money to...none of my PDL's were ever for that much, not even with fees!

My husband had a collection from 8 years ago (from Providian) turned over to MCM. We finally got the money together to pay it off and he called MCM and was told it was turned over to some Visa company. He called them and they wont even take our full payment, they want us to pay half now and the rest later, interest free. I don't get it. We just want to pay it off. They also said they will send us a Visa card (which we don't want). Does this sound right? We've never had a harder time getting someone to take our money.

I know I have seen posts on here about United Legal. Who are they? they have called me twice and someone named "Summer Winters" keeps calling and wanting me to return calls.
