I've read so many of your stories I thought I would at least add one of my own. A month ago I paid off two CMI accounts (Time Warner Communication). They were extremely helpful and very considerate. Of course I was calling them to pay my bill, why wouldn't they be?. I recieved my Zero Balance letters but they are still now trying to debt funds that have already been paid to them. I am going to my bank tomorrow to put a stop to this and get back my fee's that have been applied from the NSF's.

They want me to pay for that. :? I do not understand why i have to pay for something just so i can pay someone else.

creditors are harrassing me with phone calls

19 years 8 months ago
I owe charge cards and other things that I order from catalogs. I was making my payments monthly and then a bad thing happen, I became disabled and was unable to make these payments. I wrote each and everyone a letter telling them my problem and would be unable to make anymore payments. The phone rings constantly now, from 7am until sometimes midnight. Is there anything that I can do to stop this. I have heard of a cease and desist letter but don't know how to write one. I understand after recieving one of these letters, that they can only contact you by mail.

Ok, here are the EIGHT cards I have in our debt settlement program. (2) Chase cards about 4000.00 each. (2) Sears cards about 2000.00 and 4000.00 (1) Providian, Now Washington Mutal at about 4500.00 (2) wfnnb at about a combined total of 2000.00 (1) Bank of America about 3500.00 Now, has anyone heard of these cards mentioned above if they: Are difficult to work with? Garnish and sue alot? or anything known about them at all? Sears and WFNNB is the worst so far. Anybody in the same boat as I am, share your settlement story with

incorrect debt

19 years 8 months ago
Company/Individual reported: Spirit One I am told that I owe $112.17 since 2003 to a book club. In the first place my name was incorrectly spelled on the debt notice; I have never had interest in this book club (One Spirit) and there were 3 persons living, temporarily, at my residence during this time. What is a person to do if someone uses their name (albeit mispelled!) to obtain products and not even sure, nor can prove who did it? I never saw the "books" and am feeling put in a spot as to what to do!? Kathy Emmett-Meek

NCO collection agency is threatening me. How to stop them?

19 years 8 months ago
Hi all. I have been gone for awhile trying to straighten out my messes financially and having to start home schooling my oldest son. Anyway. my boyfriend had two Capitol One cards which we were making payments on up until about two months ago. We were just getting ready to send out a payment this week again to them when we got a call on Saturday from a guy claiming to be from a lawyer's office representing Capitol One. He said his name was Mr. Kalogeras and that he was from the Attorney Network, phone number 866-742-5318. He wanted to set up immediate payments .....

Wage garnisment and a collection agency - NCO

19 years 8 months ago
What exactly is the percent that can be garnished from your paycheck? Is it 25% before taxes or after taxes? I fell behind on an American Express account and they sold the account to NCO. NCO is telling me that I have to pay the full amount. I am able to pay what I am passed due and then $100-150 a month on the account. I was told by NCO that they will not accept a payment arrangement and that they would go after my bank accounts and paychecks.
