How do i pay off debt in collections? I have the money, i would just like to pay it off?

xpress cash call me threatening legal action for a loan i never paid in march 2005 said it is check fraud when i never even signed any paper work!!

Anyone ever dealt with Discount Advances (my bank debits say Credit Protection, not sure if that is the same company that I have seen other posts about)? Anyway, I sent Discount Advances the letter asking for them to mark my account "Paid in Full". I have paid them $656.25 in interest and $300.00 in principal on a $500.00 loan, so I feel that they have more than made their money back on me. And this is the second loan that I have had with them. Well, I went to login to my account a few minutes ago, and it gives me the basic message saying that I was using an incorrect login and password.

These validation letters you all speak of.... With my original creditors I am only 180 days past due and they have been charged off or written off (and I don't understand why they are collecting if they are charged off or written off). HOWEVER collection agencys are calling on them. KEEP IN MIND they are only 180 days old and I am in a debt settlement program. I don't need to send a debt validation letter to the CA's do I??? I mean, because it is still so new.

I just checked my credit report and Hurley State Bank never closed out my acct. and I want it closed out today. I have done yahoo searches and google and notta found. Please help. It said the address was out of Johnston, Tennessee???

Hi, i just recently got a letter from asset acceptance saying i owed around $263 to citibank from 2001. My wife and i were there for only the summer and closed the account in person at the bank at the end of the summer. Asset acceptance said it was a bounced check to some locks company which i never ever have paid. how do i dipute this?

I received this email from my friend today: "This creditor called, I am in deep crap right now. They are saying that they are sending it to my county for a lawsuit against me if I don't pay the amount. I have missed payment for several months now. Can they do this?" I advised her to sign up on here to get some help and advise - but she is very cautious about that so I'm just going to step on in and post the situation. Can they sue AND what should she do ASAP to give her some time to figure out what she needs to do?
