I receaved a settlement offer and it says that it will be reported as "Paid and all collection activity on the account will stop" what do I need to do to make sure that the balacne they do not collect is not sold to another company. Any advice would help.

Well, I have closed my checking account and opened a new one. When the PayDay lenders try to debit their charges on 03/31....well, they will get a notice that my account is closed. I do feel like I should try to work with them, though most of the stories I have heard do not leave me with a lot of expectation on their acceptance. I am guessing that my first step should be a letter explaining that I am having trouble and would like to work with them. I saw a sample letter section here somewhere and can not find it again! Can anyone point me that way please?

This idiot just called me at work telling me I owen them a balance which I paid in full a long time ago. He didn't even speak plain English I told him I was at work and that was paid and he screamed in my ear. I told him I was not paying any more it was paid in full and suggestions from anybody.

After being here for a bit and reading and posting every now and then I've learned to be cautious of people calling my home. Anywho, he calls and asks me if I am in the process of repairing my credit or reestablishing it. I said I am currently doing both. He said "Well we have a great program for you! It's a credit card we're willing to issue you without checking your credit.

It's me again..... I received a message at my office from a Mr. Wilson from Capitol Collections @ 888-579-8904. I tried calling it back and it just rings and rings, not even a voicemail that picks up. Does anyone out there have any information on this company? (i.e. are they legit, who are they, address, etc?) Any feedback will be very helpful and appreciated. Thank you.

I've seen that a few companies consolidate payday loans. I got a question for y'all: I owe about 4K to about 10 different payday loan companies and I'm currently paying each about $50 per month, $25 per pay day just to appease 'em. But, after looking over everything, I find that I'm streching myself close to the max. I can handle it, but do I really have to strain myself just pay them back so fast?. $50 doesn't sound like much, but that is $500 per month.
