I had a collection agency contact me stating that if I did not pay balance in full today that they were going to process me and have me arrested for fraud. I have made payments on this account and the total due is only $150 but when your a single mother of two with not a great income it makes it hard. Can they really say these things or are they just trying to scare me?

Well its me again!I did what Curly Carl suggested and contacted Sears,whoreferred me to Resurgent,who referred me to Phillilps Cowan. I finally found out that Phillips Cowan is an umbrella forLVNV,as well as Resurgent. The funny thing,I've been talking to a guy at Phillips,and he has suggested everything from borrow money from friends,get loan on car,etc.

I recently checked my credit report and saw that my husband and I have a real-estate debt through Bank of America... the problem is.. we do not own any property. That is the only odd thing on the credit report. We think it might be his father (they have the same name) but can't get a hold of him to find out.. Anyone have this happen to them? Should I be worried about it? The account is in good standing and is apparently raising our credit score because of the fact that it is a real estate account. :? Rose

I had a check which had bounced back when I lost my job. It was presented again and subsequently cleared. Dillards never sent me a request for a bounce fee but now I have Certegy trying to collect on the $25 bounce fee even though the check was paid. Can they do this? When I called them they were nasty and said well you are not going to be able to write any checks until you pay us for this. Why should I pay a bounce fee when the check was paid? Or should I?
