can a check cashing business send you to jail if you do not pay them back on time?

Okay--while saturday I received a copy of my husbands credit report from Equifax and was really ticked off because all of the dell accounts had been updated. But not in a good way!!! They changed the date of the last activity. It WAS 11/2002. NOW they've changed it to 03/2003. :evil: :evil: BUT today, I got a copy of my credit report from transunion and two of my accounts have been updated. They were in 'charge off' mode, now they're showing 'pays as agreed'!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One was a home depot account that went into charge off.

I wanted to know if it is a good idea to get a loan and payoff my present debt and then apply for a home loan. Is there a waiting period? Not bother, or only consolidate some of my debt?

They say are collecting for my cash now. Credit Protection Depot are the ones that keep calling from 866-645-1661 everyday demanding we pay even tho we have paid them. I have the bank statements to prove it.

I am at my wits end. My DH and I have great paying jobs, however, it is not enough to take care of our bills(I know what you all are saying, join the club, lady)!! Anyway, our credit sucks and we just received a notification from HSBC that our mortgage rate has increased from 9% to 13%.Our mortgage payments will be $1800. We have our car payment of $560.00, daycare $560.00, unsecured loans totaling $1500.00 and I have a collection agency debt that is $1,000. I don't know how we make it each month, but we do. I can't take this anymore.

Just received a call from Mr Martin at Law offices of Attorney Frederick D Kelly from the best i could understand. He called from 713-780-8900 and told me to call back at 866-780-8900. However, he did not reference what account he was calling about. Just said he was calling to bring me up to par on what actions they were planning on taking in the next couple of weeks. I am currently enrolled in debt settlement program and payment have begun. I dont recall receiving anything in the mail and this is the first i have heard from them. What should i do? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Hello All!! OK, I just called hsbc to see what i can do aboutmy charged off (May 05) acct. They said it is the process of being sent to CA call back next tuesday. ???? This acct was with Academy. Inever have talked to anyone about this acct. Can it get worse than Academy? Iwas afraid to call them..per their own forum here. Call back next week?? i have had this company called Prelitigation Services that has been calling my job.They told me that the work for Platinum B Services. Well I called the number left for me and a girl by the Name of Nikkie? (how ever you want to spell it), she would not give me any answers, i asked for a number to the Federal United Bank because she did say she was working for them. I even asked could she fax me something and she told me no it was my fault that i lost my paperwork. i had 3 people total to hang up in my face.
