I have a debt management program with MMI and I still can't seem to get ahead. Should I be working with another company?

Capital One took me to court for a debt and won (The court location was far away so I didn't attend). They just recently took me to court again to garnish my checking account. They have my old bank acct. info. though???? I am in the process of filing ch. 7 bankruptsy, but will take a month or so before I can pay off my filing fee. I am soooo affraid that they will garnish my wages or my current checking acct. Does anyone know the virginia laws re: garnishment? I believe it's 25% of your wages but not sure about the bank account. Can they wipe out my whole account???

I had a message to call 877-830-0633 but on the caller id it came up 281. Does anyone know this number?

Have you noticed that these animals take your payments in more than one debit? I may be all "conspiracy theory" here, but I have an idea of why... If there are multiple debits, they increase their chances of half of the payment not coming through, right? So that means they get to charge you late fees, and re-loan fees and all that, just to keep the cycle going. It's gross.

Ok....Going through my Experian currently.. I have TWO entries from midland credit management...Both for the same account/number. One of them says, "Unable to locate individual 1/11/06-1/11/06", They have not tried to contact me! Not by telephone, or mail. The second one is also from 6/05 I made a payment last summer, and it is not reflected. Has anyone had to deal with midland credit mgmt people? What does this mean? Should one of these be removed???

Remember me posting about a wells fargo account that is showing as PAID on credit report and I am currently paying to a collection agency, but collection agency isn't on report? well, I finally got my Experian report back yesterday, the collection agency is showing on husbands report on Experian. BUT they are not on the other two reports, just this one. I know they don't have to report to each other, but why is one report so different than the others? Maybe the collection agency just reported to the one bureau?

Unfortunately (Well, kinda fortunately) my tax return got offset $400 to pay off my student loan. So at least that's one more debt gone. Once I get to work, I'm going to contact the 4 that came off today, and try to get documentation. I'm also going to call my bank and try to block any debits from these companies. Next paycheck, I'm going to get rid of the last 2 loans.
