this collection agency calls me and says i owe them but they have not verified my debt in writing even though they say that they have sent notices, they are very threating on the phone. Today the woman said if i didnt make arrangements with her immediately that it will be sent to litigation. i dont even have an account number to respond with a letter. What do u suggest?

Over two years ago I rented a car for work. It was a small company so we did not have company credit cards. As we were pulling out of a parking space, a passenger noted that something seemed to be dragging underneath the car. We all got out and discovered that the front bumper was detached half way. Well, the car was unsafe to drive in that state so my co-worker removed the rest of the bumper and we drove back to the rental car agency, filled out the paper work, and got a new car. We attemped to reach them to see if they needed anything else from them and never heard from them.

Does anyone have any good advice about what to do if a credit card company will not work with you??? I have sent a letter(from the sample letters on this site) to my creditor and they replied that I'm not eligable for any type of reduction. They won't reduce the interest rate, the amount owed, the payment amount...nothing. They are unwilling to work with me. I have never been late with a payment and I have always paid more than the minimum payment. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Any help is appreciated.

Okay, I agreed to pay Sonic in full last Friday and not for it to go through my debt consolidation company. I was out of the office for the past three days due to a death in my family. First, they sent the e-mail to my boss wanting to verify from employment/income. I don't have a problem with that but they also disclosed that I had an open/defaulted loan with them. They try to make it more difficult on you so you just give up. Secondly, I sent a do not call let two weeks ago, which I know they have received via certified mail.
